  6. unfortunatly the army's lack of planning ability means i dont have an exact date of when in october i will be back at the momment, so chances are i will be cooking in 54 degree heat and you guys will be having the time of your life at the meet.....does it make me a bad person to hope it rains for you? i will hopefully make the next meet, looks like it will be a great time. tony
  7. hey everyone, thanks for all the well wishes, i have just had a text off dave to say that if all his results come back ok, he will be out when his meds are ready, but as news goes that is good news, so hopefully by the time i get back in october i will have a few videos to catch up on. tony
  8. doctors nowadays are amazing, they will have you in and out in no time with nothin more then a scar to add to the hunters look. All the best Tony
  9. Hey guys, As many of you will know dave has been having troubles with his breathing for quite some time, i was informed this evening that he had been rushed into hospital due to this breathing issue. I havent known him long at all, but he is a kind, genuine and generous gent, this was shown once again by the fact that even though he is very ill he requested that i was called and informed about him being in hospital so that i wasnt left wondering about our upcoming shoot. So i hope you will all join me in wishing him a speedy return to full health, so he can get back to his write ups and vi
  10. see i think im a bit weird as i like the weight of the hw, its a bit reassuring? i dunno how to describe it lol it just feels awesome, but then again anything is better then an sa80 lol, might try one out to see tho, advice is always welcome. cheers, tony

  12. afternoon all, as the title says im after a bipod for the beast, just wondering which ones you guys with hw's used? and how you would rate them. cheers, tony
  13. I am by no means an expert but i guess it is simply down the the fact that its easier for them to make their burrows in ditch sides as they only have to dig inwards, not down from the top then level out. The facts that its easier to shift the dirt out behind them, easy to make escape routes out the back of the ditch and that the grass around ditches is usually longer therefor offering more cover must also be a factor. hope this helps, although not sure if i am just chatting b :censored:cks tony
  14. Hello everyone, Firstly thanks for reading this, i tried to make the title as descriptive as possible so not to waste peoples time. Im 22 and currently serving as an aircraft technician in the REME, but i am looking at signing off when i get back from afghan. this will give me a year to sort everything out. To this end i have been looking around and although there are many lines of work i could go down i would love to be able to put my resettlement courses into entering a career in the great outdoors. i have looked at the course lists and places that offer them i am just after the
  15. i was also under the impression that cleaning the barrel was not only pointless as like you said its non powder burning, but if it was a rather heavy cleaning session would mean you had to re lead it..............so im at a loss as to why it worked, unless there was a build up of lead in one place in the barrel. i will definatly bear it in mind should i experience the same in the future, tony
  16. just got my first pigeon :) back garden

  17. Too fecking right.. Told mine never to speak to strangers and to walk away, this includes the police! They were within there rights to ask your boy some basic questions, what do you people think they should have done ?, knocked his dads door before entering any sort of dialog ?. Don't get me wrong i to think you should go down and sort it out but don't loose the moral high ground by making shit up about nightmares and bed wetting FFS. they have no right to ask questions without an adult present.FACT. if thats the case how could they ask the lad who his parents are? i know th
  18. hmmm now that is a drama, i understand the wish to rock the boat and get them to understand that your lad was right and what your doing isnt illegal......however this could cause them to get their backs up, which in turn could cause them to find other ways to make it difficult for you. to this end i would recommend getting the information contained in the law printed off and retained for taking with you or your son whenever you go. you basically have to have everything set up to answer any question they may have, so proof of id, adress etc, permission, the laws, and anything else specific
  19. its not far at all if i am correct in saying that templehirst is between carlton and eggborough? my permission is near selby road, camblesforth.
  20. hey guys, the reason for the title is that i have a permission near here that i would be happy to let you fine folks a go on for tuition. Now i wont lie to you, its not massive, but if you live near then im sure the change of scenery will be nice for you. it is a few acres with plenty of bunnies, but the best i have done from a shoot is three . im not a bad shot, in fact i will only take the shot when i know it wont suffer, and at most they will do a backflip. i just dont seem to have the field craft skills required for high amounts of kills, and there is only so much you can learn off for
  21. there is a video on you tube to show you how to do this im sure, looked quite simple too.
  22. hahaha no not just yet, im happy wityh my set up, but thinking about it i could do with a night sight,,,,,hmmmmm
  23. i use air arms diablolo field 8.4 grains 0.547 grams domed. these work well and i can get a good grouping, but im not sure if they are hard hitting enough, they are just the ones i got from the shop with the rifle to be honest. i did buy a tin of marksman pointed pellets but they are so bad through my rifle, even after the 30 pellet bedding in, i know they are pointed but even so they should be accurate within accuracy. so i obviously dont use them anymore. i think i will try the crossman magnums to see if a heavier pellet does me better.
