  6. Hi Looking for a hw80 mk1 .177 in half decent condition, rifle only or full set up. Pm me or text 07900262467 if you have anything of interest. Needs to be within 30 miles radius of Stourbridge, West midlands Thanks Darren
  7. Thanks guys it's very much appreciated; I don't expect too much when I go out shooting, I spend half an hour on the range, shoot a few targets and have plenty of banter. I'm learning slowly and enjoying it along the way and your comment all add to that. I'll keep practising and run a few more shots through the 97 before changing anything else. Cheers Darren
  8. It's funny you recommend bisley magnums; some one gave me a tin last year and they were excellent in both guns, but someone in the club said they were too heavy for a springer and that the would cause issues with the seal etc if I kept using them? Darren
  9. Thanks for your replies; I've been shooting targets for a while and i use the artilary hold, i know SFS tunes are exellent and Tony's a true gent but something does'nt add up. The only thing it could be is that the 97 has'nt settled down, to be fair it's only had 400 pellets through it. I'm getting 8 mm groupings with my 95 over the same distance, and the 95 and the 97 were always as accurate as each other with superdomes. Initially the 97 was really twangy and kicked like a mule until Tony worked his magic. I've probably not given the 97 time to settle down being the impatient bu
  10. Hi guys, I was wondering what ft lbs is the best in a hw97 for hft, I've had a SFS stage 1 tune and it currently runs at 11.81 ft lbs with superdomes and was wondering if my 20 mm groupings at 35 yards could be improved by reducing the power? Darren
  11. What about RWS superdomes? It would be interesting to find out what people think of them, they seem very popular. Darren
  12. Hi mate, I will not use anywhere else if I can help it. I'm going to get my HW97 tuned now I've put a couple of tins of pellets through it, Tony said it would be better tuned and I trust him, it's quite twangy and it has quite alot of recoil so he's probably right. Still over the moon how my 95 has turned out. Darren
  13. Oooooh yes; I collected my HW95 today from Sandwell Field Sports, and I've been into work to zero it and it's perfect. I've now got groups of 20mm with the odd flyer at 40 yards, to say I'm pleased is an under statement. The scope is in the centre of it's adjustment, up, down, left and right and the breech has been re-crowned and it seems quieter? Tony has done an excellent job at a very good price, and the whole team at SFS really know their stuff Thanks guys/girls Thank for the feed back and advise given by all on this forum. Cheers NDarren
  14. Hi mate; I purchased a Hawke 4 x 12 x 50 HD IR OA for around the money you want to pay from Sandwell Field Sports, cracking scope and exellent service. Give Tony a call on 0121 5202000 Darren
  15. I've taken my hw95 to SFS and Tony found that the cylinder lugs are bent upwards, that the stock wasn't the original and the barrel was bent. For reference I bought my rifle off a guy called Adam from worcester and I found the rifle on Gunstar, I thought he was a decent bloke that claimed he new alot about pistols and air rifles. If he did he well and truely stitched me up and sold me a rifle in a dangerous condition (out of scope range adjustment) knowing fine well it was for my 12 yr old son! I have text him and had no reply; of which tells you he knows what he's done, I'm angry, em
  16. Hi bill, I'll be down in the morning for a quote. Cheers. Darren
  17. Hi, if it's going to cost silly money I think I'll strip it down and sell on eBay and cut my losses, I will go to Sandwell field sports and see if they can give me a quote for the work and I will make my mind up once I've had a quote. My son will have to get used to taking a rested shot with my 97. Thanks guys Darren
