  1. Someone's already tried to repair the crown and put a large 45deg angle on so the straightening was a waste of time, so It looks like a new barrel is needed. Regardless of the straightening it looks like the bend was right where it joins the block, there was no difference at all. Does anyone know how much a .177 95k/80k barrel will cost fully fitted. Darren
  2. Don't be silly guys, I've put the barrel between revolving centres on a lathe and found a .2mm bend in the barrel, I identified the area and have managed to remove the bend with a lead hammer, the barrel is now running within .02mm throughout it's length. I will let you know later in the week how it zeros without the packing under the scope once I've re-assembled. Hopefully job done once I have sourced a pin for the barrel, it looks worn. Darren
  3. hi, i purchased new ones, and still had the same problem so i checked them with a vernier, i even swapped my scope over and had no joy. I have also checked for up/down play in the barrel, none found. Darren
  4. hi, i can't find any splits in the stock, and i can't see any mager bend in the barrel by eyeing it up but there must be a bend somewhere. How can i check this without breaking the bank. The rifle sounds and shoots lovely now, but it shoots up hill. Darren
  5. Hi, the rifle is second hand, I have changed the piston seal, I checked all the dowels, srews and linkages, checked that the scope clamps are of the same hight and I have also tried a brand new scope, of which even at full adjustment of the scope the gun shoot high. With the packing in the front clamp the gun is very accurate with a light hold, and lightly rested, so I can't understand whats going on. Originally the gun had a horrible smell and was making a noise (even with the silencer on), this was due over lubricaing with too much of the wrong grease (last owner) and a split/perishe
  6. Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help? I have recently purchased a HW95 for my eldest son to find that it's shooting higher than I can adjust the scope, I tried another scope to find it was doing the same thing, could anyone advise what could be causing it. I have managed to zero it by putting a .3mm shim under the front clamp closest to the barrel, but I need to know whats causing it, so I can get it put right. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Darren
  7. Hi mate, I have recently purchased a new hw97 and my father has purchased a 2nd hand Hw95k in average condition for my son. I was wondering what SFS does when tune a rifle, how much it costs, and is it worth doing? The hw95 .177 My son has seems a bit lively and is dieseling even after 200 shots. Your feed back would be appreciated. Darren
  8. Hi Davy, I believe I have to thank you, I down loaded your permission letter, modified it and personally delivered 10 and posted 20, I'm now the owner of 2 shoots, one industrial estate and a 90 acre rough shoot that I got through a supplier to the company I work for. Hard work getting permission, but it goes to show that if your willing to put the time in that you will get there in the end. I believe the face approach is the best way, but if you do decide to ever give up shooting, keep in touch with the people that give the permission, just any case you start back up again; I made that mistak
  9. Hi Davy no offence taken, we all have off days. I've got £100-£160 to spend, maybe a little more for the right buy, but I need it to be relatively local, 20 mile radius to dy3 area (Stourbridge) so I can view/collect personally. Thnx Darren
  10. Thanks guys: I appreciate your feed back/input. The reply to Davy is: I've purchased a new gun and I'm now looking for a cheap but suitable rifle for my eldest son (he saw your reply tut tut, nice example for the kids), I'm on a very tight budget and i want to get the very best for for the money I have to spend, hence the reason for the info requested. Cheers Darren
  11. Also interested in the scorpion, here are you based, and has the bottle got a ticket
  12. No, that's the problem; he's just fitted a DIY v Mach kit on it and I don't want to buy and then have it put on a chrono to have it stripped down again, I'll probably stay clear. I'm looking to a .22 for squirrels, preferably a break barrel for speed, I already have a 97k that I purchased from S F Sports, now I'm looking for a cheap .22 setup so my young son can use it as well, hence the reason for a 95 over a tx due to the weight. I'll keep looking locally until one crops up. Cheers Darren
  13. Thnx for your feedback, I'm not sure if I should be looking for the tx mk1 or a tuned hw95/95k, my gut feeling is to buy an old .22 Hw95 and get it tuned so I know it's been done properly. I did find a tx mk1 with a DIY V-mach fitted, but it hasn't been checked and I'm a bit twitchy about buying it. What do you think? Darren
  14. Hi all, can anyone advise if the original TX200 mk1 is any good in a .22, and what I should be paying if I were to find one in half decent condition. Cheers Darren
  15. Thanks for your input, I'll take him to Sandwell field sports and see what suits. Darren
  16. Would love an old Exocet in any calibre
  17. Good morning, I'm preferably looking for a springer setup between £100 - £150. Darren

  19. Cheap reliable .177 full hunting set up wanted, nothing made in china
  20. I have a 12 yr old son and I'm looking to buy him a second hand springer setup, can anyone advise what gun would be a suitable for him to start with? Obviously weight and size plays a big part. Darren
  21. Looking for a synthetic stock for a HW97k, I've looked to see if I can buy new with no joy. Darren
