Thankfully, I was only 7 and my sister was only 4, so we don't have absolute crystal clear memories of it. My sainted mum, on the other hand....... My Ma would have had a nervous breakdown and never recovered I reckon It's like something out of a James Herbert novel

The Tories do have the appetite actually...believe me the bill is ready to role....it would still have to be voted on and at present the snp would just loose it for us. The Tories hold a majority in the HoC, if they whipped to vote for the bill it would pass. The SNP can only have an effect on the passing of the bill because the Tories refuse to whip for it and instead would allow a free vote because they don't actually have the appetite to repeal the act and the free vote was only put in the manifesto to pander to a small minority of their supporters.

The Tories haven't even got the appetite to repeal the hunting ban so the the idea that they would bring in further protections of our right to hunt is complete fantasy. Besides any protection that was brought in could be just as easily removed by a future government that wanted to ban hunting.

As you say fair play to him, I'm sure if he puts the graft in (whatever he chooses) there will be opportunities to make a few quid... a man and a van is a useful commodity... house/shed clears, rubbish clearing, gardening, window cleaning, some diy type works (if he can turn his hand), deliveries... or a mixture of all... its getting your head down and finding the opportunities... far too many doom and gloom merchants around, you've just got to be willing to graft and spot an opening.... "it's there for everyone" (as my old man used to tell me)... good luck to the lad. think the lads strugglin
