  1. That nasty ditch is on the side of a big ass mound with 100+ holes on top, holes along this ditch, holes in the open, it was hard work with 3 of us, 5-6 ferrets, 1 terrier and 1 lurcher!!
  2. glad you could work the disco carrot cos i would of still been looking Thought I'd been given a duff 1 when I couldn't locate her, was searching for a good 30mins alround our half then strolled over by you n she was up there, located her to the inch!!! We'll have some fun Tom, good place for producing some rabbits!!
  3. Weren't a bad dig, ground was soft, 2ft down, disco carrot was spot on and the first time I'd had to use it, Jill must have travelled 40ft + to get to there from where she started, thought she'd fecked off!!
  4. Just spoke to Tom Malc, he sounded gutted he missed the txt!! Mark was chuffed when we left yours, first proper ferreting day, steady bolting and good bag, can't believe lala!! Great day out for me mate, chuffed with these 2 Jill's, had them bolting like demons!!! Cheers, Spence
  5. I'm not a vet either mate but if it a defect and could cause her problems, no progeny would come from her! I'm not saying she isn't the best bitch on the planet but knowingly picking her with this defect, should have meant you'd know that mating her would be wrong, in my opinion!! I've seen many a litter, not working dogs granted, bein produced by substandard dogs and bitches and the progeny suffer! If it were me, I'd spay and when the time is right for a pup, select more carefully! Thanks Spence
  6. Why would you want to breed from her with this obvious defect? Risk the chance of losing the bitch on the table through c section, possibly passing this defect on to offspring?
  7. I've just picked my first lurcher, beddy x whippet, up. I went for this x as I didn't want something too big, 17-22 ok, quick enough for bolters, wanted the coat to be rough for bushing and a bit more weather resistant. Im not an out and out lamping man so didn't really need the leg a grey. I'm a fan of the terrier, staffords are my game, but admire the beddy, border and wire fox. After all my needs I was advised on the beddy x whippet and are chuffed with my pup!! Thanms
  8. It can be a very broad and in depth subject mate and everyone will tell you differently. Where do you get that veg from? Is it minced? Should do the job a few times a week. I dont see the point in feeding dry kibble if feeding a good VARIED raw diet. I was feeding 2 meals a day until recently, rack of lamb ribs in the morning and then a meal of meat, brown bread and veg in the evening. However the meal of bone on its own was proving tough on the stomach and the dog was shitting balls of chalk. So now I just feed one meal at night. I try to aim for tripe twice a week, meaty butchers
  9. Raw veg mix any good as it can be bought for around 60p for a lb? I do have liver chunks also, forgot to mention. Brown bread? I can get mackerel on the cheap sometimes, is that ok? Is mixer very nessersary? I feed burns to my staffords but want a raw diet for the bed x whip and might turn to raw for the rest if I can master it! Thnaks
  10. I plan to feed mine, beddy x whippet, chicken carcasses, wings, mince ( chicken, beef), tripe, lamb and beef meaty bones and rabbit, should this cerfise? As a 6 week old pup, She is eating, Chicken wings, rabbit, tripe and meaty bones and mince, she's eating 150g, is this enough?? Thanks
  11. you will get the best out of her ill give you a hand with her like i said shes realy switched on Cheers mate!!
  12. Cheers malc, thanks for putting me onto her!! Trying to show the staffords what she's about, some real heart in there!!! I hope I can get the best out of her, hopefully some good times ahead mate!! Thanks
  13. as above, went today to pick up a pup malc1 put me onto today, beddy x whippet, settled in great, slept most of the day, had a chicken wing for tea n asleep again. thanks

  15. You never know, spanuki could be awesome!!!!!
  16. Sound mate, sure Malc will be up for it in a week or 2!!

  18. Cheers peeps!! Just looking for some ideas on the situation really. Cheers Malc, probably spend a lot of time with you when this pup comes mate!!! Don't want the pup reacting or shying away from then when the enevitable happens!
  19. I do want a bit of respect on both parts! My Stafford bitch is now scared as f*#k of my little Jill!!
  20. Hi all, Just looking for your views on how you get older ferrets, not kits, used to dogs? I'm hopefully getting my first ferreting dog, beddy x whippet in the next months, I've got 2 ferrets at the moment with 1 or 2 more in mind. Some of these ferrets are rescue, I'm not a serious, money making ferreter so I rescued some, to hopefully compliment my dog. The ones I have now have/do bite my dogs now so how do I accustom them to a pup? I don't want him shy of them or retaliate. Thabks
  21. That the permission lee is talking about mate?
  22. Block is better alround, dogs can't chew the woodwork, block don't absorb piss and the likes, easy to wash down!
