  1. About as much chance as any quarry run by dogs, plus if they need the meet fair sport is not a priority!
  2. Well, you might want to try if your dog is coursing towards a train line, main road or perhaps a small pet dog or cat.............it has been known to happen. Thats happened to me before and at the time i wish i could call him off, fortunately he missed the train by about 30 secs
  3. For hunting, that dog looks as handy as a chocolate tea pot
  4. That's a bit disingenuous Skycat gets a raw deal from the guys in here cause she's a woman...she's been in the game a long time and has probably done more than most of the lads on here. Who's talking about skycat?
  5. I've got two of his books, not knocking the man but I prefer more informative books with detail on lurchers and different crosses, quarry, hunting methods, training tips, conditioning etc. I don't really enjoy tall tales and such, each to their own I suppose. I just feel his books lack a little detail
  6. WHERE? THE SAME PLACE IT TOLD US THAT THE SALUKI WAS THE FASTEST DOG? RUNNING AT GREYHOUND SPEED IN THE BAKING HEAT ON SOLID UNDULATING TERRAIN. THROUGH BUSH SCRUB & OTHER OBSTACLES THAT GREYHOUND PACE WOULD BE A DISADVANTAGE AS AN INJURED ANIMAL IS NOT MUCH USE IN THE PACK. DOES THEIR MUSCLE TONE SUGGEST AN ANIMAL THAT IS AS FAST AS THE MUSCLE TONE OF A GREYHOUND? I AGREE THEY ARE GREAT NATURAL ATHLETES Look it up, cheetahs don't seem to do too bad with their blistering pace in the same habitat THE CHEETAH IS A LONE HUNTER RELYING ON SHORT TERM ENDURANCE & PACE. HUNTING DOGS

  8. Look it up they have been clocked at higher speeds than greyhounds, they are one of natures ultimate athletes
  9. They are supposedly faster than greyhounds though on documentaries they don't appear to be
  10. Dogs are thought to have originated in the middle east, they are strongly related to the middle eastern gray wolf
  11. So did a giant alien craft drop elephants off or did they hatch from a chicken egg?
  12. Rabbits appear lightning fast because their legs go ten to the dozen, also the scenery around them makes them look faster. For example driving down the motorway at 70mph doesn't feel fast at all, go down a country road at that speed and you feel like your in a f1 car.
  13. Why would you not want to include bull crosses when they on average excel at that purpose more than any other cross?
  14. My mind is so open you could swing a cat around inside it, I'm also a realist! Are you talking about the reality you have been fed....hAHHHAHhhhHHAHAhhahahHHA! I've always been taught to never eat yellow snow but now I'm having doubts!
  15. My mind is so open you could swing a cat around inside it, I'm also a realist!
  16. Drastic evolution changes take Eons, man hasnt studied animals let alone evolution long enough!
  17. There is evidence of evolution in our own country, before the industrial revolution the peppered moth was usually light coloured, dark specimens were very rare and were collectors items. During the industrial revolution Soot, smoke and other industrial wastes darkened trees and killed off lichens. The light coloured moths became very rare whereas the dark coloured moths became abundant, this is evidence of rapid evolution! I agree that this is Selection at work. Birds picked off the silver moths that stood out on sooty tree bark. You could call this 'Micro Evolution'. Show me an examp

  21. So where did modern man appear from?
  22. I was just saying wouldn't thinks be good if all dogs were light enough mouthed to catch the hares injury free. The killing of the hare was nothing to me as I never ate them
  23. In my eyes the chase is everything, Wouldnt it be good if every hare that is caught could be returned harm free without injury. We can all dream
