Went ferretin today on a massive warren down a hedge row about 200 yards the hedge row runs down th side of a fishing lake and the rabbit had dug holes in the bank but there was to much cover to do anything with them holes though but we did get long nets put around the henge row surrounding some good holes, we put two hobs and a jill to work , they where just running everywhere it was like a bloody maze anyway we started packing up and picked a hob and a gill out there was now sign of the other hob couldn`t find it on the finder ther`s so much cover and other warrens he could be anywhere be
  2. if you freeze a rabbit you can chop it in half with a machette easily then just give them half a day

  4. hi all quick question for you, i bought a gill about a year ago and her tail was bald like a rats tail but it cleared up thought nothing else of it, til my hob developed the same problem over the past couple of weeks can anyone tell me what it is?

  10. i`ve got a polecat gill the same mate im in the process of cureing it, get some pipes in your garden and let it get used to you picking it out of them like you would at the warren, if your cage is big enough put some pipe in there and every feed time have a little trainin section before it gets feed failing that like gnipper said give the bugger away

    The field is next to a road with cars passing me i could well have been spoted joe, i was lieing down when the cars came thou i`ll give it another go one night this week maybe early mornin before daybreak they seam to be out then aswell, thanks for the replys

    i did go and have alook a few times and they come out at dusk but it`s no good trying to set up in the light so i thought they would be out all night so anytime would do :thumbs-up: but that wasn`t the case i`ll go as soon as it`s dark enough next time thanks for the reply bigbob, do you longnet if so how do you go about scaring them into yr nets r we doin that write?

    tips please

    We`ve been out longneting tonight in a paddock which is usually alive with rabbits we hit it about 11 oclock, we had 150 yrds of preset long nets which took me 5 mins to drop, three of us drove the paddock towards the nets claping and flashing torches and got one rabbit did we go to late or just no bunnies tonight?

  20. no probs, they do make alot of boxes i`ve been lookin on ebay at them all, they have them real tree boxes for about £60-£70 im getting one of their triple boxes i think

  22. i use 4z nets nets because they are lighter but i use mine on grass land usually not much to get tangled in, i made my own out of sheet netting my advice would be to make two 50yd nets out of 200yrds of netting , if you make 100yrd nets they are abit heavy to pack away your arm kills by the time you`ve collected it up

    ITS TIME.

    I also bought a mrk3 this season had a mrk1 for years before that, i`ve just got the hang of it and i think it`s great on top of the fert everytime, the olny thing like everone is the collar the mrk1 collars where far better they shouldn`t have changed them, i had one slip a collar only once mind but one of my collars has a mind of it`s own sometimes works somethimes not! i`ll have to get it sent back
  24. thanks for all the replies everyone heres a pic of my team out i started the thread to help me decide weather or not to keep a ferret or two back out of this years young to add to the gang, i think i`ll just keep one back to make it six all together, 2 jills for 1 hob (lucky boys?) :thumbs-up:
