    I usually work polecat jills but recently been more inclined to work hobs dont know why. I have one albino hob at the moment hes a cracking worker if he kills he drags them out. Im trying to get more whites as theyre handy for spotting in thick cover unlike the polecats.

    I used to live in a council house in Scotland when we went to sign the papers I told them I had dogs and ferrets and they were no bother. I had 9 dogs in the house at one point when my terrier had pups unexpectedly. I never got a bit of bother. These f**cking ar**holes just trying to take away our freedom to hunt. Whats the poor f**cking dog and owner done to deserve this. I could see the point if it had bitten some one.

    I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago my jack russel got killed on the road and they said that wasnt covered. I had four dogs insured with the company so I just left the company cant remember the name of them but just a con, bunch of crooks .

    Well I usually smoke rats out but as tod says somedays they just wont bolt. Ferrets are great for the job if the dogs are steady to them. I also like digging them out dirty job and not for the faint hearted when the bolt out from under your feet and run over your legs. But great fun all the same. Each to there own I will use any method some times diffrent places need different methods.

    Well I have a ruger 10/22 semi auto .22 rimfire its great little bit of kit i have had it for about 5 years now I think i only paid £120 for it and its fired tens of thousands of rounds, great for bunny bashing or for taking hoddies and pigeons. When i was keepering that was all i carried with me so quiet and if you shoot it enough then you will be able to take some good shots with it. Only ever had one fox with it and that was at a realease pen at night so the birds didnt get disturbed. You can buy 25 shot banana mags for them get three an tape them together and you nearly have a whole night

    My lurcher was always doing the same with the terriers or the spaniels. I just kept him on a lead every time he pissed about he got put on the lead. Now when I walk the dogs he stays right at my heel apart from when he goes to do his buissness. An if he pisses about I just put him on a lead he soon learned. (Alcatheen pipe also works wonders.)

    I agree with weekye seperate them asap. Hobs can be fine together over the winter when jill's aint in season but they will kill each other when the jill's come in.

    I personaly prefer a round mouth spade and to see how many people use a grafter. Just thought it would be worth asking you lads and lasses what you prefer to use as everyone has there own opinion.

    I always use a collar but only put the box on if need to i dont mind digging if it means more meat in the freezer. We have alot of sand holes up here and i have found my ferrets stuck in collapsed tunnels a few times i dont like to loose good ferrets as they are hard to come-by these days.

    Thats a good night for a young dog dont push him to much though. I see alot of dogs been sold and swapped they never get a chance to settle these people that think a dog should be killing below 12months is madness. Not saying its wrong but just aint my way and i know it aint alot of lads/lasses veiw to start a pup to young.

    Bullx for me I dont do deer but like taking old charlie on and have seen alot of dogs doing it but most are bullx's. Never realy worked with other x's much. My mate has a Kelpie cross that will do fox.
