    i was out detecting yesterday, i found what i think is a corroded roman coin, and a roman brooch or something ? its an oval glass piece with a romans face carved into it, with a copper outlay, never seen anything like it before ,

    fair play,..welldone mate, i bet your really chuffed i found a few pieces of silver plus a gold cufflink a couple months ago, but nothing as good as that yet, you jammy git a new mate has just lent me 5 roman books,info and coins ect, plus 2o treasure hunting magazines from the early 8o's to 2oo2 loads more info in those compared to the magazines these days, as these days i think they expect you to know everything already, including how to research properly ect, theyv given me loads of new ideas of research

    found an old axe plus a silver half crown last friday guys,an old match box car, which came away in pieces,and also the usall copper coins.. anyone found anything half decent yet ?

    i know what you mean, iv met a few people saying exactly the same, iv put god knows how many hours in,and not found what i was atleast expecting, maybe its been hit before or im in the wrong area, but unless you do your reasearch properly, your just shoveling dirt about ! When you say research what do you mean mate? What sort of things are you researching or looking out for? I've always fancied having a go but was afraid of how much time it would soak up when I've already got a few hour intensive hobbies! i havent been into it that long myself, but look at old maps maybe tyth

    google the Staffordshire hoard the farmer told the guy when he asked for permission too go ahead but he was wasting his time it had been done over and over but the guy finds a hoard of Anglo Saxon gold I think it was worth five and a half million im near newport s wales and the roman remains there are unbelibable, the best in britain ! i detected not half a mile from there, i found the normal crap, but i did also find a pick, i thought was a normal 6o-7o year old pick, took it to the scrap yard a couple months later with a few other items, then found out it was a roman axe thing, which the

    i have a garrett euro ace metal detector,and a garrett pro pointer, before that a csmx5, but in the past 6 months iv found loads of pre decemal coins ect..plus a silver william + mary coin, a copper/tin coin unidentified as yet but old, a silver sixpence,a 14ct cufflink and 5 other silver pieces, along with musket balls,buckles and many many other finds, has anyone ever found anything intresting whist metal detecting or out walking...?

    the best detector around... the ctx 3o3o is probally the best around. but yes yours is a decent detector and at a fair price aswel
