  1. I was going to take the rifle and shoot him again but like yours he went no distance laid down and bled out in seconds so there was no need or time. These things happen to us all. Like i said an honest post. I totally agree mistakes happen. But I always hold fast to the principle that its the guides responsibility to ensure that the margin of error is reduced to its absolute barest minimum. Clients don't head or neck shoot beasts unless expressly at my request. If they miss we stop and check the rifles zero. They don't continue shooting in the hope of planting one simply by luck. Clien
  2. Tony First class. A good mix and some real quality articles. I made a point of searching the www. for earlier editions I hope you don't mind. Like all magazines its the quality of the writing that makes the difference between indifferent and brilliant. Even the most interesting of subjects can be ruined by poor quality pensmanship. Its definitely been bookmarked into the Favourites column.
  3. Well they can either drink a few cans of Red Bull. Remember Red Bull gives you wings. Or they can use the ladder.
  4. There you go again....... jumping to all sorts of wrong conclusions. I'll try and help you along. My names not Harry I'm suggesting nothing I'm neither despicable nor little. I don't have any court judgements against me either. In regards to missing highseats or anything else for that matter. How do you define despicable?
  5. A good thread this. A lot of sense posted and a few stupidities.
  6. How handy for you that the guy who won is who he is. Don't think it will get you a Get out of Jail For Free card though.
  7. Simply take it off its wheels! Its a manual hydraulic system. It designed to be sited and erected by grunts with the mental capacity of a fence stob and the ability to break anything built by man with their bare hands. So its rather "robust" in its construction. I guess it wouldn't be that difficult to install an electric hydraulic pump with a remote control though. We had a look at the mil -surp and ex hire cherry picker high seats a couple of years ago. Over priced and the mil-surp ones were so over engineered and heavy you needed a 4X4 3 tonne truck to tow them IIRC the single seat man
  8. Other than a Harris they are all " cheap chinese pile of sh1te". IMO Buy the once and buy the best. That way you only fee the pain one time.
  9. So what was the final score for the H4H competition head?
  10. It might be free Nick but its not particularly productive. How the personal vendetta going these days. Sorry to hear about your loss. Matt Get yourself along to the Fenland GF at Stowe cum Quay at the end of this month NOBS will be there. http://www.nobs.org.uk/ Alternatively give your regional chairman of the NGO a call. I'm sure Geoff will have a few contacts looking for reliable beaters. http://www.nationalgamekeepers.org.uk/
  11. It could be they are not comfortable with the thought of gate crashing someones party. I suspect its a combination of movement, shine and being an unfamiliar object that makes them work. I'll have to give them a try myself. We have some heli balloons left over from the pigeon scarer's.
  12. Decent head that one Davie. Was he dabbed in the kingdom of Fife? As they produce a number of top quality heads over there. I sure you've stated here and elsewhere that the H4H competition head was being measured by RP at the Scone GF not TDW. Hence the delay in announcing the competition winner. Still at least someone will be getting their prize at long last. John will just have to make the announcement for you, now that your banned again .
  13. Nice work Yokel Good to see that you haven't wasted bandwidth by cross posting your OP around the various forums like so many do. Respect for that alone.
  14. The South Africans and Israelis have the right way of dealing with such lowlifes. Shoot a few as they masses together plucking up their courage. No great loss to a law abiding society.
  15. Davie Those far better versed in these matters have already amply demonstrated that they give little credence to your opinions. I agree with them 100% It was your subsequent actions following their thorough dismissals that got you banned.
  16. Any member who continues to post in a provocative manner in the main forum or by PM will be removed. The well-being of the site and the majority of the members as a whole is more important than one rude member. http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/showthread.php?27219-Recent-Locked-Threads Those old habits die hard aye Davie.
  17. Oh definitely Lab. Me ....I'm more of a lover than a fighter .
  18. What would you like my avatar be,? A pair of jiggling boobs, or a camel toe, or the cropped promo shot of a struggling actor perhaps? All equally anonymous!
  19. A friend has a HMH. He has collar that has flashing amber LED lights fitted into it. Makes tracking the movements of the dog in thick cover in failing light much easier. Given that he mainly culls sika in gets plenty of use, even with his choice of calibre. None of this walking around on open ground malarkey. Pinching other peoples high seats is becoming an ever more popular form of recreation. Some people are becoming quite brazen about it. Hopefully your mate will receive his compensation, and those responsible with receive their just deserts. What goes around ...etc.
  20. Davie I see we're back to Harry again. I was quite looking forward to Pugh,Pugh etc. I had mine assessed at the CLA. Took all of 3 hours from dropping them off to collecting the cert. How long has it been since the Scottish GF.....6 weeks now? Time flies and all that..... If you will ask an obvious question......... it raises the question of how many times have you been culled thus far? 3....4.
