  1. I see what you mean lads. So no animals skins on it then? Just a plastic bag?
  2. Ive been walking the dogs in the evenings on a patch of fenced land opposite some cottages. It's a fair size and perfect to do some training with the pup. There was goats on this land but they have been moved well before I went on with the dogs. Lady came out of one of the Houses and gave me a mouthful and that I wasn't allowed on this land. I apologised and moved off, I did explain that when I started walking the dogs there was rubbish and smashed bottles in the field which I Cleaned up and got the field back to a decent state but she wasn't having none of it. What's the deal with this
  3. As title says, what's the best lure you have found to use for running a dog on a lure machine? Rabbit skin wrapped Around a bottle/ net bag? Plastic bag? A rag? Thanks
  4. Does anybody go away ferreting for a weekend or have to stay over somewhere the night? If so what do you keep the ferrets in overnight? I took mine in the week overnight in a cat carrier to ferret down by my old mans. Woke up to the carrier on it's side in the back of the car and the ferrets covered in sh!t. Decided to make a box for them to stay in. It's just over 2 1/2 feet wide (to fit in boot) with a 1/2 mesh front. Will do the job for me. What do you use? Cheers

  8. Hardly post on here now tbh- compared to what I used to. Some good guys on here and some numptys. Asking advice is like flipping a coin, you either get a good response or totally destroyed for asking. Lurcher section is the worse! Putting a post up is like playing roulette I just stick to folk I already know for advice and guidance. Would be a good idea for genuine members to have one place to talk about genuine things
  9. Joe the Scotland flag is blue and not green for a reason I hear this all the time..... All the Scottish cnuts going All braveheart. Who gives a fcuk..... Really? It's the biggest debate going..... Always England vs scotland...... What about Wales? They're a load of tw@ts In 1865 the welsh invented the condom by using the bladder of a sheep....... In 1866 the English modified the idea by taking the bladder out of the sheep first!
  10. It retrieves a rabbit skin dummy fine. When the dummy was fcuked I put rabbit skins wrapped round it with elastic bands. They weren't cured 100% and bits of skin were 'flappy'. The dog was tasting the inside of the skin which must be appealing because both dogs done the same.
  11. To the tune o "ye cannae shove yer granny oaf the bus" O ah'd rather wear a turban than a Rose!............. Ohh that's harsh but I've got to admit..... I'm with you
  12. What would all those Scottish lassies do without us English studs to pump them? joke- I'm a married man.
  13. I used to put them on the dummy with elastic bands but the pup eats the bits of flappy skin hanging over. I just ordered one if these http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=110812290539&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=18517222367
  14. Putting healthy dogs down is a disgrace!
  15. Yeah dogs are insured after the first leg break of the whippet mate Still waiting to hear back off the vets, the lab is the missus' dog and she's on edge! Never thought a stick would be such a danger but you learn. Fingers crossed and thanks
  16. Sky is saying it is on at 11.30pm on bbc1 Scotland?
  17. Spoke to a lady off another site about her rat problem, she mentioned she had rabbits on her land as the farm next door aswell- then mentioned she had horses and one needed re backed...... Got myself some ratting sport with a mate ( I don't rat), some 'untouched' ferreting permission and my missus has got a horse she can ride when suits. Result!
  18. Well, The powers that be must think I'm made of money Had the dogs out before for a mooch, the lab x was running about with a stick as she usually does. She came back to me coughing up blood. Got her home and she was fine..... Fed her about 6 o'clock and she didn't touch it..... Alarm bells started ringing- she would eat anything! I know my dog and she wast right. Got off to the vets and the dog that got in the car wasn't the dog that got out. She was frothing at the mouth and blood all over the place..... Carried her into the vets and they took her straight through. Vet sedated
  19. My rabbit skin dummy- as of today doesn't have any rabbit skin left on it. Had it from when the whippet was 7 weeks old so about 6 months now. I just looked on eBay at dummy's. Found this and just ordered one. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=110812290539&index=2&nav=SEARCH&nid=51815749405 Seems pretty decent to me for training. I did put the rabbits skins I got from ferreting onto the dummy with elastic bands but the whippet decided to eat the bits off it which was wrecking training sessions so had to get a new one. Anybody used anything similar
  20. I think it's a cocker spaniel x bichon frise
