Half welsh hound half greyhound 7mths. Real rough n forward pup

every time you dig you could change your mind.about what size terrier should be. Depending on the type of burrow. A bit bigger would prob be ideal. But i wont lose much sleep over it as long as they keep working. My lakeland bitch works just as hard bit bigger 11"1/2"inchs
-
Just over 10" at shoulder..
-
Small patt bitch..genuine..some small terriers can take bit too much hurt before they get things under control..but i still prefer them

Accuracy Of The Red B&f Box
pollypocket replied to pollypocket's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
It is good to use the old brain once in a while..its because of how regular that it happens and price of the thing...still wouldnt be without it on large fox burrows as it does save a lot of time.. cant allways depend on my terriers to make noise..lol -
I got the new bellman and flint box last year and would like to know if anybody else has problems with its accuracy as more times than enough i have dug in to the side of the run or even past. I then borrowed the pieps box and worked out spot on every time. For the price i had expected better.

Universal mania are reliable and cheap for the garmin astro320 and 2 dc50 collors works out at £490...i know couple men got them in 3days.. they take the pressure off when put with hounds.

Ireland E Petition For N,ireland
pollypocket replied to tango's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
if we all stand together the ban shouldnt happen. or will the gung ho attitude that lot of hunting men have be the downfall of our sport. show our strength at the start of the campaign instead of trying to win the race from behind. so if yous havent signed yet then why not ? -
some dogs just don't make the grade . lots of owners will never make it either and I think he is 1 of them.

Stock - Breaking
pollypocket replied to North Wales --- dig it ---'s topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
shock collar do work but let them wear it for couple of days on and off around the yard as some dog are smart enough to know when the collar is on them and will only be safe with stock when its on them. don't shock them until they are about to strike at sheep so they think that cause of shock is the sheep. I prefer to show them sheep every day and keep checking them keep walking right up all the time it is bit harder work but end up with a more reliable stock broken dog, depends what is suitable for you. good luck. -
does any body have any pics of this cross .

that is def 1 of my fears if they open up only good thing is if they decide they want to hunt like a hound they wont go to waste as I run a small pack of harrier / welsh hounds, hopefully wont have to go down that route, if it goes right should be a usefull lurcher, me and 3 mates are gona keep a pup each, time will tell will get a pic up of dog and bitch when I get service done,
-
back to a lurcher you would loose to much pace as pups will only be half crosses as it is, if they worked out could be a very good base line for breeding off,, does any 1 have any pics of this type of cross.
-
the welsh hound dog I have lined up for coursing greyhound bitch is 26" at shoulder very strongly built and killing foxes at his ease and better than a lot of lurchers, I know I will be running risk of maybe the pups opening up but will give it a go anyway the bitch is in season at the minute, should be ready for the dog sunday week,
-
has any 1 bred this first cross before and how did they work out at lurcher work ,any pics, I work this type of hound and I will be experimenting with this cross if all goes well, I have seen 2 hound crosses work before were def good all round dogs, I could end up with fastest hounds in Ireland, lol I have enough lurchers at min this is just something I have been thinking about for a while,
