  1. my pall had 29tts wheaton greyhound crooss big heavy sett dog and it won a lamping rabbits compertition mate against so called good rabbiting dogs up blanchland co durham that was slip for slip on them this dog towered above 23tts and 24tts bredfor bunny dogs the lad in question was a davy young with his dog rio
  2. ive had 2 mate found they are canny dogs i suppose its what you into mate personaly didnt find owt wrong with the breed 1 dog ihad was a little to small only 19 inch tts think it had to much whippet in it was mint busher and great round ferrets

  4. if her tail feathers are growing just leave her to finnish the moult till september if shes agressive and the tails still growing it can cause stress marks if you try and man her and become weak a bit risky flying now i think lot of nests with chicks in if she finds one and crops up you may not get her back but if you are gonna fly her just fly her from the fist were you from mate good luck in what you decide im in durham mate think ill take your advice mate cheers if you from area and no gedd who was selling falconry stuff his he still selling gear and chicks mate need new gear thiis bir
  5. ive got a female harris which ive had for 2 months and as ive never flown her would just like to know as a novice lads is will i put her away to moult or can i fly her ive flown a harris before but to be honest im not sure on flying them when to put away and when to start traing this female was flown all last year summer and winter and was a little tatty but in the 2 month ive had her she as cast tail feathers and new coming through she is at present in flight fed right up and is aggresive now

  7. a good catch rate is what you consider it to be no to days or nights the same no one can really say but on the whole my view is that if you catch half what you chase you doing ok and alot depends on weather area and if game been chased before or lamped to bits as far as injurys some minor some major and some fatal the later is worst it gets acidents come when least expected

  10. try a collie greyhound first cross got the brains learn quick or beddy x grey whippet grey these are generaly of small to medium size and for the most very bidable mate but like most breds you get your planks saluki cross not all num just some take lot to train sight hounds got chasing first everythink else second in my view and so as not to upset the saluki men thats just my view mate to keen on here to jump on ya comments mate

  12. 2 dogs worked to the max,and when they are injured,IM FECKED im running to dogs mostly plus traing pup but like to have a bunny buster and a fur teeth dog in lurcher wisen terriers two which to be honest only used when lurchers out of action or weather is bad to lamp but depends on your hunting outings and nowt worse than dog fcked and good lamping night mate

  17. I feel pretty lucky regarding injuries - she's coming up 7 now and ripped her chest on barbed wire (could happen to any breed) and had to have her front right outer toe off but that's been it. She's got quite tight feet and her fur isn't thin and whippety its got a kind of downy undercoat to it (almost a bit fluffy underneath) so its quite thick - sh'es 42lb so quite a solid bitch. The pup I kept back has the same fur and feet, so fingers crossed. this one ive got for me son is fine boned as well mate got funny sort of coat black but tinge of brown downy fur undercoat seems keen nice temp

  20. hi mates just been given 14 month old whippetxgreyhound to be honest its not my cup of tea but my son wanted a dog and i ne cash so i got this black bitch she stands 24 tts not done much but me son buzzin my pall said its bred out of dogs from scotland and well bred she called bonny and as a air rifle pellet lodged in her back which the vets dont want to remove any info on this bitch id be gratefull also what u lads think of this cross never had this type before

  23. i hunt all year round purely to get out not bothered so much what i catch just like getting out and doing a little bit here and their mostly just round the doors twice a week like a say the catching isnt the be all and end all at this time of year just to keep me dog fit and the boredom of try to stick to fields that have stock moved of to fresh fields and the grass grazed flat
