She looks slightly timid there mate. Or is that just the way the photo has put it across?

If you have plenty of rabbits to ferret i suggest you buy a collie blooded dog for the boy. They have the intelligence to pick the game up very quick. Maybe a dozen outings with a dog that allready marks just to see how your new dog marks as there's a massive variation in how ferret dogs mark, from very subtle signs to 1000% unmistakable mark lol. As has allready been said it will probably be difficult to drop on a ready trained dog. So I suggest buying a young dog or pup in yourself.

Well I made a last minute decision to have a look out and try a little bit of bunny bashing with my young apprentices one being the dog and the other my boy. Before I even left the house one of the apprentices was sound asleep and chose not come but is now up and moaning he wants to go tonight. Thats another story lol. Got to my chosen spot and there was hardly anything to be seen which I could only put down to the fact they were clearing trees off the side of the main road. After 3 fields I decided to head back and try another spot. The 2nd spot producing just 3 rabbits in 4 fields.

Have you got someone you can go out with thats got a dog doing the buisness? It wouldn't hurt to go out for a few runs with your pup watching on the lead and give them individual slips as sometime as the thought of another dog being there encourages them to pick a rabbit up just simply because they want it first. Soon has the pups caught a rabbit take it on its own from then on. Although the thought of healthy competition can be good to encourage the catch having a second dog there can knacker the retrieve. Also it helps if you get yourself into a position where the rabbits ar
