    Both your dogs should have been introduced to livestock, as soon as they had their vaccinations in order for them to run free, without limitatations, whether you work them or not, so with your puppy, its as simple as this, bearing in mind, lots of young livestock about at the moment, so as not to cause any stress to them, wait until the season is over, then take your puppy out on its lead where there is livestock, as soon as your dog clocks them, a sharp tug on its lead , with the simple command of NO, repeat daily, the next step, when you feel the dog is responding, is to walk amongst livesto

    Cheers Paul, now i truly know just how you felt when you lost your Tilly, done my head in i can tell you, she was a great little worker, but more than that, my companion, i try and put my all into my dogs, and now find myself with just Nell, she is a great bitch, does the job in the field, and another great companion to me, never leaves my side, as for my other bitch Jill, she suffers from arthritus, but still gets walked and loved, i cant grumble, im out everyday with Nell, she did me proud yesterday, she is only just turned 2 yr old, so not ready for breeding yet, and to be honest, ive not e

    Thanks everyone, im aware the majority of this site aint much for whippets, but i enjoy em, and i will tell you all summat now, i didnt realise until now, just how good a worker she was, the times ive had with her will never leave me, any ways its just me n Nell now, ive had her out today, i thought of doing some livestock training with her, just keeping her up to date, shes ok on that score, but i thought the better of it cos theres lots of young stock about, i dont wanna stress em out, so there we were just having a mooch, when i heard the all to familiar cry of 1 copt bunny, retrieved live

    Thanks for your kind comments, but im still struggling at coming to terms with it, and so is my other whippet Nell, they was always together, i had her out yesterday, totally different dog, so its back to the drawing board with her, i could sit here and write page after page of my exploits with Katie, im blaming myself for it, i new that country lane was there, should have been on the leash , i will never live it down, im no sympathy joe, opr an attention seeker, just love my dogs, pure n simple, jettyboy, dunna concern yourself about Nell, after reading this, she be ok

    Took dogs out for a couple of hrs yesterday afternoon, Katie the blue bitch bred by me, put up this bunny, so off she went over the field and onto a country lane, straight in front of a taxi, i will never forget the horrible thump that threw her into the ditch , blood, shite and piss coming from her, i picked her up, taxi kept on going, carried her best i could got to the main road a few mins later, same taxi pulls up along side of me,and appologised saying he couldnt stop cos he had a youngster with him, anyways, got her to the vet, but shes gone foks, i cant fukin believe im writing this, i

    I get all my stuff from my butchers, chicken carcasses, off cuts, offal, doesnt charge me a penny, cos i have half a dozen eggs off him occasionally, plus a chicken at christmas, green tripe i get from a local farm, mix it wi brown bread or terrier mix, not the complete stuff, but i do use a complete occasionally, rabbits copt with my dogs, all given raw, dunna worry about worms, dogs get em, just worm em every 3 months, every now and then, i bung em a whole bunny each, they love em, eggs, shell n all, fish, the buggers will eat owt, except there own cacky, fer gods sake, if you ever get gree
