  3. Nice looking pups sniper, hope they do the job for you... Rater you than me though bringing on two at once, !!!!!! Mars.
  4. I`me afraid we`ll have to agree to disagree on that one one merle24, my own pup has plenty of speed, and from getting hands on with the Other rough coated pups they are built to run too, which is i assume what you mean you mean when you say line back to the greyhound, If you mean for size, then i don't think that's necessary as most of the pups are doing ok for what they were bred for, and even then if it`s size your on about i`de probably line back to a bigger wheaton/grey or bull grey If anything i`de say that these pups with a few seasons under their belt would be ideal to line back t
  5. From staffordshire mate, and went lamping up north a bit...., worth the trip though...
  6. Thankyou Bedlingtonman for yet another invite for a nights lamping, No big bag and sorry folks i didn't take any pics, had a couple of runs on some lamp shy rabbits, my ageing Bull x putting in a good if not scary run on one particular rabbit, as she went flying over a STEEP bank as the rabbit put in a sharp turn, Also gave my pup a couple of runs, but the penny has not dropped with him yet, he`ll chase but doesn`t realise he has to pick them up, I need to get out with him more i`me thinking..... We weren`t out for long {my fault i had a raging toothache } LOL.... But had a good laugh w
  7. Not exactly what you were posting about, but a Bull/Grey X Whippet, he can shift a bit, and is fair game with it too. Owned by a mate he`s around 24" and solid Yis Mars...
  8. I`ve been messed about by this lad, {though i haven't parted with any money} I saw that he was local to me, and as tdavepat, saw that he`d posted wanting to earn some money using his joinery skills I was hoping to have kennels built to attach to a knew run i have, but hey ho looks like i`ll have to build them myself now, {Poor dogs} lol,!!!!! I haven't got as far as getting his details, so can't help anyone in contacting him, I`me hoping that maybe the lad has perhaps just bitten off more than he can chew, and will at some point get round to putting things right with people... I know if h

  13. that's a sweeping statement bud, surly the cross would depend on the size and type of both breeds used. as i`me sure you know that a bull can vary in size, and weight just as a whippet can. i would reckon if you can get a pup from working parents, you`d have quite a versitile dog.. Yis Mars. P.S. A mate of moorman1 on this forum will be having some pups due that are Dam= whippet/grey x Bull. Sire=wheaton/grey,
  14. Sorry to be a pain bud but jj,issac, & jamies jack, might as well be the names of Polish imigrants to me, cos they dont mean owt.. Guess what i`me longwindedly trying to say is "Hows the bitch bred"
  15. If you were to breed Mars, would you go back to a wheaten/grey or bull/grey or opt for the mother x son mating.I'd personally put a saluki/grey over her, only for the fact i like the stamp of pup they throw. Atb Sniper If i were to breed from her again, i`ve got a bull x in mind, a dog that i know is a very good single handed dog, and has a very good laid back attitude when not working, which i.m.o. is almost as important as working ability, as we all want a dog that we can live with, "Dont We" ???? Mars...
  16. I was talking about this the other day, with a mate at the Midland. I was saying that if my current pup doesn't make the grade i would consider having one more litter from my bitch, and that i`de like to use a pup from her that's now around 4 years old and has seen a fair bit of "Varied work" and i`ve witnessed it work on many occasions and it`s done Very Well, the dog in question is 1/2 whippet 1/4 grey 1/4 bull. But as others have said, i worry about the health of any prospective pups.. And i tend to agree with others that their are other working dogs out their that could and should be us
  17. Thanks might save me and his mum a few quid then, lol.... I`ll speak to the lads/owners of the main pool he fishes at and see if they cant point us in the right direction, and recommend us too someone.. Yis Mars..
  18. My Lad is Mad on his fishing, not somthing i`ve ever got into and he got into it through his mates, Anyway the pool he goes too have suggested he get a sponsor, as he is good at this carp fishing lark, and has caught all the big fish at the pools and catches regular. Anyway can anyone tell me what a sponsor is, ? does ? and what could my lad get out of this.. Mars...
  19. " As I Don't Own This Van Anymore" i thought it would be OK to post a pic of my old escort van, I had it a few years and it was a handy little van, shelving down one side, with room for all ya bits & pieces. Lamp, first aid kit, water bottle, spare clothing should you happen to fall in a river when out lamping.. "Not that i would do anything as daft as that obviously" I painted all the ply with gloss paint to make it easy to clean down, and it ran well on vegetable oil and when not being used for transporting dogs it was pretty handy for a whole different type of dogging,
  20. thanks for that link, they look better than the ones i got for my bitch, and as she`s now done her other stopper pad i`ll probably be investing in a couple of them Mars...

Gonetoearth, i`me afraid you`ve got me wrong, i am by no means a country gent born into hunting, Quite the opposite in fact, I probably look like the kind of "Skally" as you described them, that you`d expect to be doing this kind of thing, if not a tad older version, and ageing tattooed skinhead with my very own Bull X ta boot.!!!! Lol.... I live on what was at one time the biggest council estate in Europe and i`me not opposed to a bit of, uninvited mooch around convenient land. And considering i`ve kept working dogs of one form or another for nigh on 30 years, perhaps i`me more old scho
