    for you two old yins abit more ,nostalgia,,,maybe in yer parents day thou lol we are gratful to bwra president,mr jack cadman, for the loan of this old photo which was taken in approx 1900. and includes a dog name ALACRITY which although not raced , won about sixty rabbit courses. This dog was typical of the south yorks .whippet of the time , being whippet x greyhound and weighing 31lb. Great old pic there Bob,reminds me when I was a pony driver at Oxcroft colliery, but thats another story.

    What was the racing name of your bitch penny. My late father raced whippets for years, i might have seen her run. She is a superb looking bitch. Her racing name was Pennysworth , litter sister to Sugar Daddy. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone, very much appreciated

    Any pics of Mighty Mouse Bob? i sure do,,,, not great pic, iam gettin lazy i just use mobile camera now lol had a quick scan on couple off databases,,,asumming dog was born 1980/82 roughly ,,,complete blank,,,also checked times with some greyhounds,,,,some do 970yrds 58 sec, i,e surlouge champ,,,,1000yrds 66,,secounds for mighty mouse,,question is was it excaclty 1000yrd run ? good effort if it was or not ,i would say Here's another Mouse, our Sugar Mouse 22 1/2" 40lbs and like shit off a shovel, got a nice little fawn broken coated whippet x bedlington lined

    Hi Ritchie, I've put bedlington into my line for the coat, also I had this breeding back in the 70s and they were good workers. Also you can turn up at a lurcher show and nobody gives them a second look on the start line, but by gum they give them a good looking over after the final The 2 bitches I've mated are Burnt Sugar (Jack the Lad x Burnpark Time full greyhound) and the other bitch is supreme national champion/supreme racing champion Pennysworth her breeding is (Sugar Fire x Big Connections full greyhound) All being well c u on sunday for the crack

    Hi Whin, I've just mated 2 of my grews, one to a non-ped whippet x bedlington and another bitch to a first cross greyhound x bedlington, we are coming back into lurchers again. Speaking of Dave Sleight, its ages since I've seen him, he's a good dog man and a good poacher did you know is mate Sean Mitchell?

    No Tay was as black as coal this is the white one your thinking of Midge the bitch standing next to her is Bess a whippet greyhound x saluki I won a coursing stake up in yorkshire with Bess £50 plus a nice trophy she ran 5 and killed 4 . i read somewhere in whippet mags ,,,cant rember what year,,,,is tay the dog that use to run the 1000 distance at bends???? i have a wee look,,,i had it in my hand few weeks back,,,a guy use to run his non ped ,,longer distances at tracks years ago No, Tay never ran the bends, just lurcher racing,and coursing.

    I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging our dogs off, but we are so proud of them and love them too bits, and there not bad in the field. If anyone as ever watched the Field Fare Challange video (8 dog coursing stake) you'll have seen one of our grews Tay on it, that lad did have some early pace, he also stayed on the hare for 2 mins, a bloody long time for a whippet x greyhound.
