  1. Doea anyone know if there is any field target clubs around bath-chippenham area, im looking to have a go at HFT. thanks
  2. With the magnification i mean that on the MAP scopes they are designed and laid out to work on x6, whereas a mildot will work on whichever magnification you chooses to use and learn it on. Unless i misunderstand it.
  3. Im looking to upgrade my scope. I have been looking at the hawke scope with the MAP reticles. Does any one have any experience with these? it will be going on a aa s200 .177. They seem like a great idea wander if it works well. The only thing that puts me of is that its made to work on 6x zoom only which is where i feel it has a disadvantage over mill dot. Any thoughts? Thanks
  4. She is a patterdale x patterdale/lakeland.
  5. Thanks for the advice ill let you know how she gets on. ive attatched a pic of her for those interested.
  6. Id be happy for any help, i have a 25yrd net i got for ferreting this year, so i can practice on something if soneone could show me how.
  7. Most of my permission is not open ground, i mainly airgun and ferret. If it would help i can certainly get some land more open, i assume lager feilds is better to learn on?
  8. She understands that rabbits come out when ferrets go down, so time i think will work if nothing else
  9. I'd like to learn long netting, is there anybody in the bath/chippenham area that woud be kind enough to take me along, and teach me what they know? Thanks Josh Or im up pershore/worcester mondays and thursdays?
  10. Does any one have any advice to help encourage my dog to mark holes, she is very keen at sniffing them all but doesnt give a clear mark. Any thing i can do to train her for the stronger scent? Thanks
  11. thanks for that, at the moments im using AA diabalo field, 4.5mm 8.4 grains. These seem to be given good groupings, 10mm at my 32 yrd zero. I would say 90% of them any way, the rest are within a 20mm grouping. I may try some other brands if not go back to these they seem good.
  12. hello I have recently bought a AA S200, .177. Would anyone be able to sum up the effects different weight pellets will have on the gun, its mostly used between 25-40 yrd's for targets and rabbits. Thank you
  13. I'd disagree with that Ive had two rescue ferrets both mature, my technique to stop them biting is clenching my fist and only letting them go near my knuckles, as a rule they cant get there teeth over them enough to hurt or lock on, at them same time offering food in the palm of another or smoothing there back takes a week or two till i can pick it up without getting bitten. and dont be jumpy when they come to your hand, if you move it quick it may scae them and they attack, just et it go keeping your knuckles at it.
  14. Hello I just picked up 2 new AA s200's today one for me and one for a friend. Im only getting about 35 shots before it starts noticably dropping is this a normal amount? the man in the shop said 60. Also annoyingly my friends one doesn't work, as soon as your put some charge in it you can hear it coming straight out the barrel so something is broke inside, anyone any ideas on this before i call them tomoorow morning? Thanks
  15. im after some opinions please, a pcp such as AA s200 or gas ram theoben evolution. I like the s200 as its nice and light and recoilless however needs charging and im unsure about long term with it, can you leave a pcp untouched for a couple of years? (i intend to buy the one air gun and keep it for life) or the theoben which is slightly heavier with recoil however i believe gas rams will last a long time and i have no air resiviors and less seals to worry about if it gets lead up for a year or two in the future. And opinions will be great thanks.
  16. I was given a hob that was found on its own, I built a big run for it, now i want to give it some company, so im looking for anyone that has either 1 or 2 gills to go with it. Im in the bath/chippenham area. Thank you
  17. Thanks sounds like a long lead then, she will be a working dog so it is the right site, she has come ferreting with me several times and has very little interest in them. I just want to see if i can stop her going off into the horizon whilst she is still young.
  18. I have a 6 month old patterdale/lakeland pup, who is very well tempered, out walking she is fine plays well with other dogs and comes back when i call. until she sees something to chase birds feeding, rabbits anything, after that her attitude changes and she will not listen or come back near me just keeps looking for more stuff to chase (she has never caught or killed anything). Would anyone have any advice to get her to come back or better still stop chasing? I dont want to tell her off when she eventually comes back as im not sure if she'll think she is being told of for coming back.
  19. does anybody on hear make boxes in the chippenham/bath area? thanks
  20. hello I have just started making my self a new ferret box, what wood would be recommended for the bow back? do people just use thinner ply? if so what size Thank you
  21. would anybody be able to reccomend a goog book that describes the basic, im keen to have a go but dont know any one to teach me thanks
  22. My Mk3 doesnt sound as bad as yours but when it says something is 2 foot away its about 6 inches, and i dont think it oicks up anything past 10 foot, so i agree they are shoddy and for the money should be spot on with accuracy. I bought mine second hand so cant get anything done under warrenty. It would be good if they could be re callibrated at home or somthing,
