    ferret

Give him more time to come out wait till hes all the way out and don,t snatch at him. Try to tempt him out further with one of the rabbits, make a fuss of him when you get hold of him. Its hard to stop once they start it can be caused by snatching at them and pulling them out of the hole. Just stand well back and let him come all the way out.
  3. Whats the furthest north any of you lads have seen or taken Muntjac?
  4. Yes I agree with you Gin. I follow and sometimes whip in for a footpack and we were only saying the other day that the ban has brought all walks of the hunting field together. We now get a bigger field and more support than for a long time. If only the anti,s knew !! Where abouts was the Zetland meet Keeps?
  5. Ive had a lanber sporter for 4 years and can recommened it. I have just worked it out and its fired between 9 to 10 thousand cartridges in that time and it still looks in great condition. The bores are almost mint and theres no real sign of wear, and ive had no trouble with it at all. Totally recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Have you tried him in different locations, maybe the place you use him will often end in a dig no matter what ferret you use, I,am not telling you how too do your job, but were you quiet when setting up as they often need digging out if there disturbed before hand. Some of the places I go i know before hand will end up in a dig, its down to the warren. Most ferrets will scratch the back end off a rabbit when its in a stop end and eventually kill it if left long enough its just down to where the rabbit bolts to, wether it goes into a net or a stop end. The ferrets not there for a chase.

    george best

None of us knew the guy personally so we have no right to slag him about his personal life we all have our crosses to bear. What we can comment on was his football as it was there for everyone to see and that was first class!!! .And I,am a Leeds United supporter!
  9. glad to here it, did you get quized by them or was it straight forward.
  10. ok good luck with it mate
  11. Used to sell lamping batterys myself about five years ago, about 1 in 30 came back as a duffer ,which I replaced straight away, as I was making good money on them.Apparently its a normal occurence. Generally batteries of this type are only covered by the sales protection act which means they are of merchantable quality and fit for use for 30 days only, but in your case it should have stated that on the guarentee.
  12. Thanks lads As you say you should,nt have to be frightened of saying something as long as your honest, this is a good site and if we are all genuine only good can come from it. Hopefully these people who degenerate things will eventually go or be slung off by the moderators. :realmad:
  13. When my dogs have been out working with me on the shoot or lamping , one of my dogs suffers badly with swollen feet from nettle stings. I am on the shoot with them everyday, this is a problem as this dog now lives in the house .as she whines and dash,s about the house because of her swollen feet. As this section of the forum is for working dog health I considered it a valid question . Admitadly its not a really seriuose ailment but something which I thought was a genuine question which is a nuisanse on a daily basis, and which 2 genuine dogmen replied to originally. At least my dods are
  14. ok its nearer manchester than preston then, only been to his house once and my mate took me from preston seemed close. only charged 5 pounds for clicking a dog.
  15. sorry mate my mistake I was thinking it was the box .
  16. Hello matty, yeah ken is the buisseness he lives near preston but travels the country, he meets lads at the tracks or motor way service stations werever. I will Pm you his numbers
  17. The mk1 is a simple piece of kit mate, its just a pcb (printed circuit board) with components soldered in. Its most likely a component thats burn,t out like a resisteror or a capacitor. They are easy to diagnose with a test meter . Most small electronics hobby shops would repair them.
  18. I can,t understand all the fuss about them, no one can gaurantee their dogs go that far back. Or what they did back then or what they were bred from, its amazing how people believe or want to believe in pure speculation. One thing I am sure of is that there was bullshitters around in those days just as there is today. :11:
  19. opinel every time -stays sharp- nice point for piecing skin - locks -cheap - and very important easy to clean.
  20. I do have anti inflamatrie tablets but I do not think It would do them no good giving them to them nearly every day ,I suppose Piriton would be better . I wondered if there was any cream available? All the fields on the shoots around my house are still surrounded by nettles. so its almost a daily occurance.
  21. My lurchers are 5 1/2 and 1 and both suffer with it they both dance around with the stings for about 2 hours when they get back in . All my dogs over the years suffered with it. Could do with a keen frost to kill them back.
  22. Does anyone have any tips on the treatment of nettled feet on dogs. My lurchers often suffer for hours after been out and cannot settle down.
  23. I resent paying my taxes for them, I work in the centre of leeds, when I go to work at 7 in the morning and you hardly see one of them, its just white people going to work - later on you can,t move for them.
