  1. Nice offer. Although I won't have time to drink whilst i'm fishing............... ;)
  2. Just had a count up and there is 16 fishing with some people coming but not fishing. If theres 25 of us all together i'd think that'll be it. I wouldn't bring more than the 20L Most people will bring their own drink with them. I'm not a Cider fan TBH, especially the colostomy type. I'll be bringing Ale.
  3. You can always use the "I sat near the areator" excuse. Worked well last year for someone..................
  4. The caravan is packed bar the awning. Fishing kit on the garage floor just needs loading into the car. Lots of prizes/raffle/auction stuff. Beer. Food. Banner. All Sorted. Might go over on Thursday night and set the van up, coz Fridays forecast isn't looking very good. Should put a bit of water in the Trent, which is desperately needed though.
  5. Never been faster in a car than on the A9 in Scotland years ago in my RS. Blew the Turbo once. Had a new one fitted at Turbo Technics near Burton on Trent. It just flew after that. Nice car, but the XR2 was a better car IMHO.
  6. Didn't know what the f**k it was TBH. LOL. I'm sure it'll be right though.
  7. .........Arbroath rock.........Curly wurlys.........Ruffles........Fudge........Lollipop.
  8. Looks what's arrived. Along with a few other niceites. You're a top bloke Jim. Thanks!!
  9. We never had it all anyway Joe. There are 50?? pegs on the lake and Rita wanted too much money to book all of them. We are being charged £6 per peg, (Should be £7) but we all dib in £20 and the difference is given the the charity. We will still have to pay for 30 pegs if only 15 fish. Unless I can get the booked peg numbers reduced. Thats why I'd like to know if people aren't fishing.
  10. Yes, There are one or two lads names on the list that have been very quite of late. There are 30 pegs booked for this match which we will have to pay for regardless of how many turn up on the day. As of now there are 20 names down. If you can't make it for whatever reason, please let me know because I may be able to drop the pegs required down to 25/20 beforehand, thus saving us money on the pegging fees, which means more money for the charity. Cheers, Arch.
  11. So, that's what a Barbel looks like, often wonderd.........
  12. ........That's it. Don't think I can keep doing this anymore, too hard. I'm not one to give up, but I've had enough. Might go on the Trent and see if I can catch a Barbel on there.
  13. Back on the Dove. Last time before the comp. 8 trips 8 blanks. The rivers up a little and pushing through a bit. Lots of weed coming down too. Going to be a cold one later, down to 7c. Brrrrrrrr!!
  14. That's right Kev. Spoke to someone on the Burton Mutual commitee the other day and we can have guest tickets for the Trent.
  15. Yes that would be great, thanks I normally take 3 pints of Bronze with a few Reds thrown in for the river. There aren't many big Chub these days in the Trent, so you don't need gallons of bait anymore. I'll bring whatever you want Robbo, just give me a shout as to what you'd like.
  16. No they don't. I'll bring some extra with me. Half of bronze be enough ??
  17. Correct. And it's effing freezing.
  18. Three weeks to go. 21 names on the list, although some of them have been very quite on THL lately, so may be less than that fishing. There are 30 booked pegs that we will have to pay for regardless of how many fish. If you can't make it please let me know, I may be able to reduce the number of pegs we have to pay for if there is less of us fishing. Iv'e got most things sorted my end. A few prizes for the match and raffle. Tickets for the raffle. Tables for the night time BBQ. Rubbish bin. Scales and weigh net. Draw tickets for the match. IIRC there is 4 of us fishing the river on Satur
  19. The ironic thing is Kev, I drive past the Trent on the way to the Dove.
