agree with you mate but sometimes they don't see it coming my bitch that broke her leg was good in cover but hit a covered stump, she was far from dumb with plenty of drive, retrieved to hand naturally. the danger lies more with fallen trees, stumps ect not standing ones

f****n hell mate that's no good. I thought mine had killed himself on that bit of plough yesterday went down for the strike bosh hit a rut and was over. He got back up but lost too much ground. Hope the bitch makes a speedy recovery though. Atb yeah she should be ok mate took her to a good greyhound vets and he said just walk her on lead for ten days until he takes stitches out, then ill jog her for few weeks before she runs again, she didn't even no she done it either did I till I got back.
