  1. i need to build mine up i was told not to run them to much when young so hes just been goin on a daily walk and run for an hour aday. he was a pain to brake to ferrets. they defo have the heart of a lion, mine reminds me of a terrier in a running dogs body

  3. yeh it has come together finaly. il put sum pics up later when i find them i only got him for a ferreting dog so it was something me and my gfs son can do together
  4. i found him very stuborn i had always had bull breeds before and they have always clicked on fast. the dog looks very nice bud. mines a t**t round food and taking scraps from plates but it seems to have suddenly clicked and all the patents have seemed to have paied off. hes prey drive has gone through the roof. when mine used to meets strange dogs he used to act like a terrier snappy and vocal but have said it has paid off so roll on the start of the season so i can let him have a few runs
  5. i had mine from 7 wk old iv found him very hard to train i nearly gave up on him but now at 7months hes getting there iv only had him out watching other dogs ferreting and watching other dogs lamp. mine is very tall hes nearly 22". his mum was a kc reg about 17" and the sire was a non peg racing whippet. he reminds mge of a terrier hes vocal when playin with other dogs

  7. do collie crosses tend to have good feet?
  8. ta for your advice i want a sturdier dog for lamping as the ground is very uneven and it is legal quarry im after and may b teach it to retrieve shot game thats why im thinking collie plus i like the inteligence of them. i know they can tend to pick their runs but aslong as when i start it i pick runs which nearly garrentee a catch. its my girlfriend who likes bull crosses i do like them but may be i think it might be over kill

  10. hi im looking for some advice i have a whippet that i use for ferreting but i want a larger dog for lamping as well as ferreting im tied between a bull cross or a collie cross i will not be geting it til nxt year any advice would be great ta tom
  11. sorry i should of said lactos free. give the terrier a couple of wks 1st. my staff wa 6months before he met them and the ferrets will bite til there used to a dog
  12. 2 bowls of milk about 5ft apart when the dog goes towards the ferrets tell him no. slowly move the bowls closer over the course of 10-14 days you should aim for both to drink out of the same bowl. thats how i trained my whippet. i hope this helps

    ferreting

    Hi all im new to the game i know its a long shot but in wanting someone to take me out and show me the ropes by the start of the season i will have my own kit atm all i need to buy is a locator. when i have got some perrision i will return the favor. im in south yorkshire. ta for your help yom
  19. I dnt use sawdust and the run is cleaned everyday and disinfected twice a week
  20. She just wasnt playing with kits as normal and she want as interested in the dogs when i let them out

No there kept in the run and have a blanket in the sleep box im just thinking do i sepperate her frm the other ferrets incase its contagus i havent change the wash powder i wash the blanket in. im going to bath her bk end twice aday til i get her in the vets for the jab just to make sure she doesnt get an infection shes having the same dry food and they have has 3 chicken carcuses this week. she hasnt been out of the yard so she cant of picked anything from that so im stumped tbh.ta for your reply
  22. Will its another trip to the vets nxt week when i get a day off. my jill has come back in season. also she spent most of yesterday sneezing and she didnt seem as active as normal any ideas what it could be? ta for your help

I use dry i get it in a 10k sack for bout £12 and they have twice a week the frozen dog mince and if any of the family have chicken they have the carcus the mince is good ivpay 60p a pack. im only a newbie sept will b my first season so im still learning but the ferrets seem healthy and active. id keep 2 jills together and jills tend to bolt more often where as hobs tend to kill underground more
