    if you would be happy to use it thats up to you. if i wanted a stud for a bitch of mine i wouldnt want to see a 2 and half year old dog prove itself in the field, i'd want a 5 or 6 or 7 year old still at the top of its game showing me the job, especially for the job this type needs to be doing.     IF its just rabbits you run then why waste dog food on a bigger dog? the smaller dog can be better fed fed prime cuts,and it woundnt cos you much lol.but if its a bit of all things you want to run i'd go for bigger just cos they kill quicker (if) they are good dogs,I like em to be 24 to 25,but you carnt tell a pup to stop growing,or keep growing? :thumbs:sounds a cracker that rabbiter

    it is poss to have both,but you carnt train it into them its just luck i think,some know what your taking them out to hunt,eg in past if i walked my dogs they where steady,but put them in motor with lamps they change, :icon_eek:the bull cross i have now,tryed to run throught a railway fence banged his head,my little collie cross pup was laughing at it, am sure it was,,but i was happy with both.

    LIKE I SAID BEFORE, SHOULD'NT NEED ONE. Agreed. But (pre ban obviously) a lurcher was a very handy accessory to a digging team. From marking holes, putting stuff to ground, catching bolts and drawing they are worth their weight in gold. If you dig solo (like myself), pre ban, a good lurcher freed up your hands from a gun and net bag. FTB shouldnt need one while digging is this man for real .......scared of getting bit bet your hands look well you got any terriers? if so they must be crap if can't draw quarry themselves, you're just showing us all you're an amatuer

    where do you work then mate,?they arnt running from you they are runnig from fines cos all law is on keepers side,dont beleve your own bullshite mate?goto local pubs where these poachers drink if your so brave, no poacher is running from a fine on this ground I f*****g hate the plod and I don't need them to come and sort a poacher neither do I feel the need to shoot dogs or trash a blokes motor, I have taken my share of beatings in the past ,given a fair few too but fact is poachers run or hide they don't front up to the keeper unless they have numbers on their side. nice one keepe

    If you are breeding for personal use, then it is your choice to use your own young and relatively unproven dog. But imo a young lad like this is not ready for any 'stud' work. Working dogs and losing dogs is a threat to all of us, but part and parcel of hunting with them. If everyone bred a dog as soon as it did something good then there would be hundreds of thousands of sub standard lurchers. I am not saying pups from this dog would be sub standard, but realistically he is not fully proven, nor will be for a few more season yet no matter how much the dog sees the dogs sperm will still b
