how do you no what dogs are in the pedigree of mine.we had dogs of keith who was like a son to levi he used to clean his kennels out for him when he was ill.ray walker told me that when red stag was put over the right bitch he produced goog digging dogs he should no he did most of the digging to them.all the borders we have you can dig to turn them in if theres some one home your digging end of .these two dogs both have red stag in there lines you tell me how your dogs are bred ,how many borders did you have from levi or rw or jc if your dogs come from keith young, line bred as you say to red

you asked in your pm about the breeding of taffy,taffy was out of rocky and meg levi put rocky as rockard of stoke on his working peds on a kc ped they would be master danny and swanlow morning mist, rocky was out of brit and pepper both bred by rw,meg was out of solo and midge also bred by rw ,gt grandparents would be simmy three times and brit who was out of simmy so you see they were very close bred, and then back to levis misty ,the last of what i consider as the good stuff was out of rocky and meg or rocky and buckel who was megs litter sister some good borders from these ,taffy jimmy,jak

levi wasnt a terrierman to any hunts but he did know every land owner round his part of cheshire, so had loads of digging most of which was done by ray walker ,albert radcliffe,and gordon grinley.who were probably the last ones to see levi with a spade in his hand.ifirst met levi in the early ninetys and he hadnt been digging for few years then due to ill health .by then this line was near the end of what were the best of his terriers ,too inbred i know he tried a couple of outcross borders without any success, big shame .also ray walker should take some credit for those early borders as he br

line bred to red stag mate red stag was a non working border levi used over a a bitch called buckle must be about 15 years ago when he was desperate for an outcross for his very inbred line . very suprised to see it getting a name remember levi saying he would not use it again as the pups were a rook of shit .if your seeing red stag in the kc paper then that would explain it.

anyone who has ever posted photos of dogs smashed up or bull x lurchers hole ending foxes are all partly responsable for the bad name terrier work has . i cant work out why anyone would want the attension that it obviously gets , unless there trying to make a name for thereselves ,it only brings praise from dim wits . no good can come from it and no good terrier man would do it.

it looks like a throw back to border terrier . i lined a pattrdale bitch with a red grizzle border and got all black smooth pups one of these pups later lined with black patterdale had two rough blue and tans in the litter .nice pups dev either way

why is there so much fuss over brian nuttall ,the working quality of his dogs dropped off as long as 20 years ago ,its nothing new .he seems to get a lot of stick on here ,he must be in his 70s now it would be impossible for him to find earth work for the amount of terriers he keeps,so he lives off his past reputation most old men do ,most of the people buying from him dont know any better would never test it and think they got a good dog . best of luck to him

let them buy from buy from the peddlers most of them would shit a brick if they had a good earth dog ,it would frighten them to death ,they are not into terriers for digging ,let them have there shit dogs and take them to shows and talk shit . real dgging dogs rarely end up with these type of people it shouldnt matter how many dogs they sell no genuine dog man is ever going to cross them into there terriers, let them get on with it

nice pup working borders are hard to come by ,but if you do get a good one it is better than any patt lakey or russell

yes g grand mother 'Fury' was out of Simmy and Lasty . the first cross boder lakelands i bred were good digging dogs ,when i put border on them again some of the three quarter breds were not so good

i had six borders all bred by levi oakes in the early 90s all very inbred to the dog simmy , bred by levi owned and worked ray walker ,who really kept the strain going more so than levi and bred and worked the best of this strain .about 1996 desperate for an outcross levi tried one or two pedigree borders on his inbred bitches, as far as i know most of the pups were useless . the last of the true strain were bred from two bitches called meg and buckle useing a dog from stoke called rocky between 1993-1996 . any thing after this would not be like the old stuff ,most of which were very very game
