  1. my polecat jill , wont go down if noboddy is home , if there down there ,she wil hunt them down !!! and when she come 's out , the warren is done ! and she is so fast ! have a litter from her now but hope she wil go on for some more years

  4. here some pic's of my ferret setup , the cage on the left is my breeding cage so i can separate my two jils . the two on the right are one cage , the ferrets can go from the one to the other cage through a pipe .

  6. hi all there , again thanks for thr many good tips , but , a rabbit = she is to smart , just let the rabbit go if i started pulling !and back down the hole . i squeek if i go feed them , the other ferrets reply to it , but she does not !(anymore !!!) i have gave her the time to come out on her self = again no luck there , ( i go sit on the box from a distance and she does the same , she just lays up at the mouth of the hole and just lays there watching me about a hole hour long !!! she is as fast as lightning ! :doh: any tips left ???

  8. oh forgot to say , she always came out the night stay as i whent to feed the ferrets , and now not anymore , my other jill does , when she see ore hear me she is there , but the problem jill does not anymore , this from the time it all started to go bad with her
  9. whent ferreting today , 25 bunnies in the bag , 5 came away but ..... my jill refuse to come out , i started a topic over that yesturday but now i dont no what to do anymore !!! it is a ferret from last year , so i am working her for a little year now , she started verry good from day one realy , not often a jong ferret works so good the first year ! and she was onely getting better and better . until about two months ago , then it all started to go bad , she is hunting and working like crazy !!!!!! but wont come out , she make the complete warrens , until the last bunnie is out , then
  10. hi runforyourlife i knw my english writing is not verry good , but i'm from belgium so it is not a lack of schooling . to all the other people , thanks for the tips i do use a rabbit to get her out , but was wondering if there was a way to get her used to come out and take her up ?
  11. hi everybody have some problems with a ferret i have a jill from last year , she is a verry good working ferret , go's down like an arrow , makes the complete warren , makes the bunnies bolted , a verry good ferret , but ........ one problem , she wont come out of the warren , always problems , she come with her head out of the hole and when i go to her she go's back down the hole simply refuse to let me take her up , i always handled her every day , she does not bite and is a verry sweet ferret wath can i do about her not wonna come out ? any tips ?

  15. hi everybody , we have the first snow in here in belgium !!!! it started about an hour ago and we have 5 cm (1.9 inch ) and is it snowing and freeze like crazy !!! they forecast that it is for the hole week and it would freeze -10 . i have to work hole week but saturday it is ferreting day !!! :clapper:
  16. wel to be verry honest , we only had to train one dog , that was 10 yeas ago , then we took a you one as second dog and he just took it over from the old lady i do remember how we trained the old lady (back then it was a young dog ) just took the fur of a rabbit and always played with it with the dog , just make that the dog is crazy after the rabbit fur , then took him with us ferreting , and if a rabbit bolted we did the same , make him crazy with it !!! then when the rabbit is dead let the dog taste the rabbits piss . then always when a rabbit bolted let the dog taste its piss , the
  17. hi mate , a patterdale would be a verry good mate to help you ferreting and for marking ! we use two fox terriers , they do the job verry good . patterdale or fox terrier if it is my opinion .

  19. hi mate , yes al of the rabbits we have there are big and fat , fat on there back , fat on there kidneys . and not one with mixy , nice big healthy bunnies . it is a verry nice premission we have there . not so big ( 20 hectares ) but a lot of bunnies .
