I would proberbly wait on mate, kits will on the sceen very shortly, giving you lots to pick from, as a good working ferret is like rocking horse sh*t to buy, most people get rid of the crap/little worked ferrets and keep the excellent workers.

good question! im in the same boat, ive a jill that is the best worker ive had in all the years ive kept them, would be a total waste if i couldnt keep her blood line going because of using the jab.

Yep, im toying with the idea of getting a pup to train up through the summer, i know pup wont be much cop the first season outtings.

Just a warning, they are hard work, not always do a pregnancy goes to plan as people of here will tell you, cost an arm and a leg to feed, and sometimes really hard to get rid of, but im only giving you a little bit of advice mate

Ferrets gestation is between 40-44 days average of 42 days, kits usally wean them selves at about 2-4 weeks by copying mum.

Its only been two weeks since i finished my ferreting season due to breeding rabbits and im really fed up!!! Cant wait for season to come back around ( seasons are getting shorter) Need to take up lamping me thinks.

The best experience ive had was the first time i took my jill sas out, she was only young, it was her first season, netted up about a 12 holer, sent her in and within a couple of mins,a rabbit hit the net with sas hanging on to the rabbits arse, from that day i knew i had a good little worker in the making, now with plenty of season under her belt, she's the best ferret ive ever had, love her to bits!!!!

I use a 2" mesh stick giving you 4" meshes, alot better in my eyes, dont have to re-set nets if ferrets are in and out the holes mate

Hi mate ive been lamping a few times when i was a kid with my old man, but fancy taking it up, im genrally ferreting every weekend, lots of permission to do, but fancy a change through the week.
