  4. my mate had the same with one of his hobs, swelling around its throat and went of his food, trip to vets to find out it had a case of similar to what we get tonsilitus, a week of antibiotics and he was back to normal.
  5. only problem with a harness is if it get caught on roots or something that could snag your jill in the burrow.
  6. i had the same problem with the leather mk3m collar, a bit to tight!!! so just put another hole in it.

  10. ive got a couple of big hobs, one albino, one polecat from this years stock, dont know why there so big?? there twice the size of their parents, just have them as pets.

  12. Rabbit droppings and fresh digs is an easy way of telling if the warren is active.
  13. Yeh the police was informed and have the reg of the car that they was using, so lets see if they get caught (hopefully)!!!!!
  14. Had a phone call this morning from my friends stables that i have permission on, to find out that poachers was out lamping last nite on her land, two of her horses was shot with a 22 pellet, one had one wedged into its leg!!!! Its IDIOTS like that, that give us a bad name!!!!!
  15. No but I've had very very dark polecat ferrets bred darkest to darkest no claim to any wild poley in them "i work my jills every weekend"......but earlier you said you would nt fancy working them Y.I.S Leeview Have got any pictures of your dark polecats?
  16. the lad that i got them from said hes bin breeding euros for the last 10 or more years, last year he had 120 kits and they was all sold in a week at £20 a piece, not bad going.
  17. have you got any european ferrets? i work my jills every weekend, people buy them because they look qute being black with white snouts and tips of ears.
  18. ive found that there temprement are totally different to a domestic ferret, they seem to have a wilder side to them

I have two full europeans, really wouldnt fancy working them, they seem to have an attitude of there own!!!! ive breed many ferrets and never come across the temprement that euros have, will be breeding them next year, as they sell like hot cakes, really wouldnt buy one if your not an experienced handler tho.

  21. ferrets come into season usually from march onwards and can stay in season if not bred with or jill jabbed from your local vets.
  22. i found a effective way of stopping them biting, by scruffing them and gentley pulling them around just as there mothers do, this shows them that your the domiant one.
  23. i have a mate, who had a hob that lived to 15!!
  24. hi ive had no problems introducing new hobs to my jills, the fighting is to claim dominace, once the jill gives in to the hob due to his size and strength they will get along fine.
