Saluki is saluki Max DNA and Carbon dating have shown its history even the Hyrogliphics and wall paintings of ancient Civilisations show the breed. Over time due to genetic s and possibly environment things like length of face etc have changed look at Iraqi and Syrian lines smaller stature and shorter snouts but still structurally same destintive skeletal system compared say to North Africa and Khurdistan saluki which have longer faces but still pure saluki. Max I would not give kennel space to a lot of pure salukis Ive seen in theUK or in some of the COO , the same would be the case with a lot of the coursing dogs in GB, but its down to the man that pays the bills and shovels the stool I have been around salukis all my life my first breath was sharing the same air as Salukis, any one who knows me knows I live breath eat and sleep salukis now I am retired even more so.You keep on about the deer hound it wasnt me who suggested Saluki lining go look and see. When you can teach me about Salukis running, training or breeding them then pipe up or keep your arsehole I mean opinion to those interested, I am interested in pure salukis in my home not x,s of any description thats for others to debate what is better.

Max you talk cobblers, the old coursing lads added Saluki to the Greyhound and the old coursing x,s to give hybrid vigour to their cousing dogs not to the salukis and not the other way round. Depends on the lines mate anthing from around 20 kg upwards average height is 23 to 25 bitches from 20 to 24kg Dogs average 25 to 27 tts and 23 to 26 kg. Got a dog 28 tts and weighs in at 31 kg running weight. db how do you rate saluki for fox work ?? As with any breed of dog some will do teeth some wont, As a non specialist fox dog they do ok, Get one that doesnt like charlie and they hate them with a vengance. I wouldnt go out of my way for charlie in UK but if one is around mine will take it
