  1. Behind every good working terrier is a good terrierman, different techniques suit different dogs its down to you to find the best way to get your dog to work, its only young introduce it slowly and im sure the time and effort you have put in will be worth the end result. All The Best.

Well beddylurcher, these two type of breeds i cannot fault. the Jack Russell terrier an excellent hunter and good at going to ground, its the same situation with the border terrier excellent little hunter and good at going to ground. These two breeds are relentless, determined and strong, that Is why when you look back Jack Russell terriers and border terriers have been kept and worked for many years and even till this day they are being worked, they have not decreased in popularity. what does this tell you? there good workers that earned respect of many hunters. crossing these two breed toge
  7. its like any other breed of terrier, there are some good workers and there are some bad workers. ive came across a few borders before and ive seen some excellent workers, very good ratters. also been down a few dens. if you get the right bloodline of border terrier then you cant go wrong. Socialization from an early age is the key, as terriers have high prey drive and usually attack most things that move it would be hard to introduce an animal like a ferret later on in the terriers life. if they grew up together they would most likely be fine but again theres still a high chance of the terrier killing it.   13. 2 very nice looking dogs and good crosses, bet they have not dissapointed you in their work? patterdale and jack russell two excellent working terrier so the outcome of this cross could be nothing but positive and the same with the parson and border terrier. All the best.

  15. well mate the bedlington terrier started of as a lurcher in the early days, it was a cross between the dandie dinmont terrier and the whippet, this cross originated in northumberland. it was used down in the mines to control rats, and the local miners really appreciated it skill at ratting and killing other rodents down in the mine shafts. My mate rats with a bedlington and he cant fault it. maybe you dont need to cross it with the whippet? and if you do i believe it will be a decent ratter with more speed added to it, the whippet itself has a good prey drive and good speed once known as the '
