  1. Thank you for the reply! Good info and tips for anyone there. Your methods seem really sensible, quite simple and evidently work really well! Have a good season, time for your dedication to pay off.
  2. Interested in your exercise regime mate.. Road walking you say.. How far? How often? What other exercise do they get pre season? Two great looking dogs you've got.
  3. Wouldn't rate them then? Suppose a video only tells half a story though. Would be interesting to hear from anyone who works them..??..
  4. Sorry to jump on this guys thread but it's kind of in the theme of things.. Has any one experienced a Teckel working cover?? Or are they more for scenting and tracking?
  5. Best rad I've had on this website. Very amusing. Thank you and good luck!
  6. £60 for me to get mine done last year. Makes them your prize ferrets once they are worth £60!
  7. And what difference would it make if he was closer?! If you wanted the dog you would get the dog, end of. Pleanty of people will travel the length of the country for the right dog. If you are not prepared to do that then you don't deserve the dog anyways. Sorry to rant on your thread wardman, hope you agree with my view, think any decent man would. Lovely looking Bitch man, hope you find her a good home, all the best with the sale.
  8. It's not that they don't hunt up though lads, they go mad for a rabbit that the lurchers caught.. They just don't like cover, nettles etc and they won't enter. Maybe once they have realised that cover= chase then they will click on!!
  9. Love the deerhounds. Good pics chaps and yer gafer that dogs got some teeth!
  10. I will ask around, don't know anyone off hand, but then I don't know hardly anyone with Lurchers either! I'm sure I will be able to get in contact with someone though and have a day out and see how they go!
  11. Giro, you are absolutely right in what you say.. No point in buying another dog to just leave the terriers at home! I will wait until the winter comes and see what I can make of these two, if nothing else they will enjoy the days out. I'm in no rush and I'm only working them for the fun of seen the dogs work so it's just a bit of fun, nothing serious so it can't go wrong! Cheers for all the replys.
  12. Sounds like a springer would do me good. Or a springer terrier cross. Do you think it's possible to have a springer that will bush for the lurchers but also come shooting and pick up with me?? Or is that asking two completely different things of a dog, horses for courses etc?? I'm guessing that the bushing comes kind of natural to them? What kind of training is involved??
  13. Afternoon, Been thinking for a while that I would like a little bushing dog to walk with the lurcher, turn the walks into a mooch seen as I have pleanty of ground to walk over. Trouble is I have little experience of terrier/ spaniel/ beagle ownership. My partner has two Jack Russells who live in the house and althouch they hunt up behind the lurcher, they have never been taught to work cover etc so they don't!! Just wondering what you lads use on your moochs? And any experience of cover working dogs. Pictures, as usal, an added bonus! Thanks in advance, NEHunter

  15. Love how quick everyone likes to show their fox knowledge 'definitely a city fox' etc. They arnt so quick to admit they are wrong though are they!!
  16. Friend of mine dug to very young cubs yesterday, and that's up in the Scottish borders..
  17. Cheers guys, mustn't be a very popular cross. Personally I would cross it with a taller dog, keep the height.
  18. No one has ever seen or heard of this cross running??
  19. A friend of mine has a lovely DHxGH bitch and is thinking of putting her to a large strong type Whippet dog. Just for my own curiosity has anyone got any experience of this cross?? Pictures much appreciated!!! All the best to all of you NEHunter
  20. Hi, I use front line for kittens, or get the one for cats and just use a tiny bit.. Its powerful stuff. Rubbing it in with gloves is a good a good idea!
  21. Lovely looking pup, credit to breeder. Hope you have a good few years with her.
  22. Sounds a handy cross. Maybe a bull/ grey x beddy/ grey would be an even better all rounder. Standing a couple inch higher. I would love to see a pic as you say. I guess the bedlington isnt going to add anymore gameness to a bull x, but not going to take any out. Could add a thicker coat and better nose..
  23. Bloody hell, doesn't sound handy. Anyone else agree with this?
