picture dont do him much justice. hes very big boned and big strong feet. a few have said could be wheaton due to his fire others have said some deerhound due his bone structure. the pics dont show it well but hes very stocky and heavy type been out with alot of bull x's last few months and he seems alot stronger set. just wanted to know so peoples ideas where as i get alot of people ask what x he is and be nice to give them a more correct answer. what gets me hes 10 months old 25tts thats quite big if he was bed/whip/grey.

right lads i brought this lurcher 8 months ago not with the intention to work him. he was 8 weeks old when i got him. i was told he was a bed/whip/grey but i only saw his mum which was a greyhound. every one who has seen this dog and even my self believe he isnt a bed/whip/grey so thought i'd ask some experienced dog men on what you thought he could be. he stands 25tts at the mo and very powerful type for his size. heres few pics. he is rough coated but wet in pics.

that doesnt affect the dogs performance though does it pal. doesnt effect working ability, but recon it could make the difference to weather 10 rabbits stay squating in a field to 30. plus same as you always should stick to the hedges when lamping and shine in to the field rather then siloeting in the middle all these things do make a difference and are basics to lamping. which i would of thought alot of lads on here would know. plus people forget rabbits that arnt lamp shy dont link the lamp to human or dog presence so the lamp has little impact but the sure as feck no what a dog is or pe

out of interest if colour isnt an issue why do people wear cammo or dark clothes when out hunting. in certain conditions a white dog will stick out alot more then a darker one. i know for sure if theres not much wind about or mutli dirrectional winds that carry scent and quarry are more alert they will see the dog quicker and move off. obviously you have not got the lamp on the whole time and your not shinning in every rabbits eyes so i think it does make a difference and if it doesnt then we might as well scrap the hunting clothing and so on.

i would agree with you there. remember alot of collies only herd animals and bay them its a main characteristic for the collie hence why there the farmers choice for there livestock. not all collies are like that but most are. but once you get past that point as many said there be not stopping him. but i'd say the next 6 months or so are make or break tbh.

first hunting dog i ever owned was a siberian husky x alaskan malamute didnt get her for rabbit work but my old next door neighbour and family are big all round hunters and tagged along one night with them and took her and i was hooked from there. the first 6 months of my working dog career was with her and would never change it. i worked her with the malamute thats had them malamute grey pups. and for none running dogs they were great team and good workers. we never blanked. plus made great cover workers to during the day as they could plough through it how ever thick. good times lol

tidy pic mate nice to see you showed restraint, good man -
I am not doubting you but it must have been occasional surely. very impressive dog. walked round woodland nearly everyday for about 2 years coursing endless deer with mates as well and alot of the dogs were far from average and from all those days only one catch. lost interest in the end during the day. seen deer as put glide through dense woodlend and the best of dogs just rebound. with dogs ranging from 40lb to 100lb being honest the terreirs had a better chance and that was slim lol.

fair enough. never been able to catch fallow daytime being honest only seen a few and pointless course through the woods within few minutes gone but same dog could do daytime hare, fallow plus munjack at night. just remember this was all in my dreams lol

just like hares jump in the air from stress especailly if they've never seen a dog before plus deer hiting fences is mainly a night thing due to the lamp. day they normally clear them well enough, so both make mistakes you could say. just from my experience <which is little> i'd say deeer still.

isnt deer just as quick as hare if not quicker. i recon deer by far. clever feckers

yeah mate same here how could you put a price on running there. well worth it lol

did i once ask about how heated an area is and so on no the topic was meant to be about the terrain and so on. its my fault as well as i came off topic but was hoping for a little more info on like field size, ground type, type of hare what type of skills for that area a dog needs and mainly what crosses do well around there. i'm almost certain those were the things i asked people for there advice on. because unfortunatley there could be alterior motives on some of the replys. not saying they would but it is def something many dog men do alot of. which is fair enough protecting there land.

might be the image size its got a 500kb limit most pictures have to be shrunk go to www.shrinkpictures.com follow the instructions and then your picture will be small enough hope this helps -
little confused mate you say you had the permission before but that means squat if your coursing hares any way and if there that bad about seeing a running dog how do you get to course it then or do you have one of them invisiblity dogs lol. i understand from your sarcastic comment that it wouldn t be hard to confuse you, why can t people have a decent conversation without getting silly. mate just trying to read through the possible lies. your telling me a man cant be seen around with a running dog otherwise old bill are there in a instant. but yet most lads round the fenlands still to
