  1. And what did I tell you Aye Aye Captain!
  2. The site owner has asked me to direct this to you 'The Happy Ferret'..... Being a new forum content is the key. I am trying to create a friendly and informative place for people to visit. Members make a forum full stop. I hope members continue to contribute and help this forum to grow. If you dont like the feel of the place, fair do's. But please dont slate it before it's had chance to get off the ground. Ok sorry.
  3. You can see the bull in them two you know... Pretty colours too.
  4. Had a little look, no different from the other 1000 or so poultry sites. Members seem a little clicky and boring.....and obvious questions purposely being asked to get the low number of members to KEEP posting.. It's one of those "You know when you know all you need to know and who you know" attitudes
  5. Interesting thread. What I know is, that a few individuals are up someones bottom that far and deep, that the person receiving the thrusts needs to open his eyes and not scrunch them no more.
  6. Don't follow this jokers advice. Have seen this done, and it's not the way to go. Keep massaging the crop with the bird upside down, and spoon feed a tea spoon of olive oil (Gently) down the birds throat.
  7. If it has to be done then so be it chap
  8. Was all your ferreting in dithes and hedges? Nice bag, can get good numbers in those places. Some will turn their nose up at hedges and not ferret it.
  9. I have found that its the beaters who are down to earth. You get the odd shooting man on a shoot who will actually thank you for your days beating, the rest get into their volvo's and drive off.
  10. Stanleigh, I don't go out there to specifically take pheasants, but if the dog finds one or two then fair play, and I will enjoy eating them. Now if someone was putting their dogs onto poults then posting "Yeah great look what my dog has caught" then that's But sometimes a poult may be caught. I can also see the other side to rearing and releasing these birds, it's hard work, time and £££. My dogs work for me, they find and they catch, I take and I eat it. Nothing goes to waste. Like I said in my post, "Some may find this offensive" I'm not messing with anyones sport.....
  11. He is walked with out fail every day come rain or shine three times each day. And the walks are several miles too. It maybe that he spends too much time inside with me, and not enough time in his kennel. Thank you watchman.
  12. Hello what material can I use to prevent my dog from scratching the inside of his kennel door. Or something that if he does scratch it wont damage the door. Thank you.
  13. I don't want you to suck eggs, maybe place small nets either side of the hedges. This usually sends them into the nets,or open or run back getting back netted. Good little read Artic.
  14. HF, not really, however they could have it back at any time if it was needed. I have seen planes come and go at times. It's a large airfield. Thanks for your all your comments. Thats great, I miss hunting on the airfield near me, but as soon as the MOD came I lost the permission. All the best for your on coming season.
  15. A joy to read thank you, I once had permission at an airfield, and for dogs it was tough going, the rabbits burrowed in the most stupid of places!! Is the airfield STILL in use by the MOD? Mods and Running Dogs.... Thanks again.
  16. Mick I think it's because the other mick is spelt using a capital M as yours is lower case. It's not on, and maybe someone is taking the mick out of you?
  17. Thank you for all the replies and the link Hannah, I have placed an order with Equafleece.
  18. It's coming up to that time of year again. Last year I ordered 2 coats for my lurchers, they were rubbish and fraid. Can anyone recomend a place that sell decent coats? Thanks.
  19. Sounds like you had fun. Yes I was the same as you, only working collie/Greyhounds. I had only heard or read about other types, but once I saw another type of lurcher work (saluki and deerhound crosses) I was amazed with the difference in style and prey and commitment in the dogs. Alot of dogs stop at hedges.
  20. THF, yes I did. Thank you. I've seen his brother who stands just over 26tts, doing very well on the lamp. Seems the whole litter are performing.
  21. Artic, is your deerhound cross out of a good litter bred by a chap in Wiltshire?
