Some one's average dog could be another mans rubbish;then another mans treasure.it all depends on your standards.not every lurcher performs well at each task.might be an excellent dog on lamped rabbits but poor at ferreting.then what.i expect 99% of lurchers are only average because what i've seen is all dogs catch roughly the same amount when i go out with different people.

2 men at work keep falling out over there cockers.1 keeps nancarrow,the other keeps mezzaderwin(however you spell it)both saying there blood is more succesfull.what are your opinions on these bloodlines and which would you rather have.cheers.

should also add my mate's got a platts bred dog which he held back for 2 years and now it slays them single handed.2 and a couple of 3's in a night happily.

So they didn't like things that bite back? A few lads have said the same. i had 3 now,1st one i entered all wrong on reds,2nd one died at 17 months(kebabed herself running through woods)had 1 single and 2 doubled up,3rd one i think has the making but time will tell.

for edibles my choice would be a 1st x deerhound/greyhound.on my 3rd one now and never embarrased me where and when it counts.

good on rabbits i have a 28" dhxgh off Dave and picks rabbits up no problem shit,have to agree with gafer,1st lurcher was 3/4 deerhound 1/4 greyhound,31'' male pretty good on rabbits.

when it's black you can't see a white dog but when there's just a tiny bit of moon a white dog can glow.you might find there harder to sell aswell.

Had 3 dave platts dog's and they were excellent workers.always have 1 in my kennels.

How ain't it? i could run faster than that.they need to x it with a greyhound,then x that to a greyhound.in 3 generations you might have something that resembles a proper running dog. The dog can run I assure you. i would like to assure you too that my mates ESS can run.

i thought running dogs are supposed to have deep chests and a tight uptuck.that hound's bottom line is nearly horizontal.

the thing was,walking across some fields last week when evening was hot.its where i haven't seen a hare for 10 years and one pops up. my dog which is just a year old courses it for what seems ages,for a couple of days later seemed a bit under the weather and drained.i'm going to try some this winter to see if it helps.
