It all depends on the place really,we do a farm near us which if you go during the day you're lucky to scrape half a dozen rats but if you go at night with the lamp you whilst often get upwards of twenty,they stay in the wall cavities and no amount of smoking with the chainy will bolt them,when you go at night tho they tend to just nip behind or underneath something which if your dog will mark them gives you a chance to poke them out for him/her.If its buries then get yourself a smoker or a couple of fiery jill pugs to bolt them for the dog,alternatively just get a spade and start digging.Get
