  1. A real shame, a genuine dog man and talented writer whos books got me interested in working dogs. please raise a glass for Ted
  2. Hello Chubs, she looks well im glad you arestill pleased with her. The 2 sisters i kept are doing well at night and last week the similar sis had her first long legged rabbit last week it was only her 2nd try at one with a decent start as well. Keep it Up Mate
  3. Bad news mate. Nice looking dogs. I lost mine last week found it in a derelict turkey farm 36 hours later. I spoke to a woman who had seen her on a main road 24 hrs earlier and reported it to the police. They never informed me even though thet had a record of her as missing. I would just keep badgering all the agencies, Police, Rspca, dog Warden etc as they rarely ever phone you. Keep your hopes up though, 2 years ago I lost a russel bitch for 4 days. A woman took her in told the dog warden and Police and nobody informed me for 4 days. Good Luck. I will ask around as Im
  4. [ Nice dogs mate. Like them both, the black looks like he could handle himself. Do you get all types of quarry up there.
  5. Hello Chubs, nice to see her again you have done a good job with her she is very similar to the sister I kept ( the one you really wanted ). Ive not had my 2 out yet on the lamp the ground is like concrete here. they have had a good few mooching around during the wet weather a month back, so i am pleased with them. Keep in touch mate and I will try and get some pics on. Got them on hoprfully. They were 9 months in this pic and at the time the ground was soft.
  6. Signes mate. We lost ours in Chester years ago to have shops built on it. once there gone they never come back. good Luck.
  7. Hi mate, nice pup bit of a concoction. Like the other lad said i would let her have a tew runs when she is 10 months nothing to hard only young rabbits and mixy ones always do a pups confidence the world of good. as for the foxes ive always found it better if you can let them watch a more experienced dog before they have a go themselves. best of luck

  9. Out for a walk earlier tonight to give these pups a run and this is what they caught. I let them off for a run around in a fields which I havnt seen a rabbit in for years and next thing you now they are coming back to me carrying this between them. Not bad as they are only six months, although I wouldnt usually let them chase anything at this age I was still made up. Hope you see this Chubs And jigsaw.
  10. Chubs how the hell are you I thought you had disappeared off the face of the earth. Glad you she is doing well , you take your time with her though. I ended up keeping 2 , the chocolate one you wanted and the ugly skinny whitr one. I took her to a guy in manchester got 5 minutes back down the road and went back for her the place was a shithole it was like the housr in shameless. she has turned out well she is very brigh and like the ptoverbial off a shovel. Im made up with both of them they are doing well. Here are some pics. Keep in touch mate. I will try and
  11. I can set the record straight on this one. firstly he isnt a KC champion. He has 33 KC champions in his pedigree. He has never been to a Kennel Club Show cos he lost one of his front teeth to a fox. This season he has worked with a hunt for 8 weeks as a stand in for the regular terrierman who wa sick, and worked well. he has had thity odd consecutive wins at terriers shows in the last 12 months.
  12. Well billy my advice would be not to start the pup to early, not till she is 12 months at least. concentrate on her obedience for now as Ive found they can be very head strong. Start with the basics getting her to sit then sit and stay then returning to you when you want her to. Give her loads of praise and treats when she does well and you wont go far wrong. Good luck.
  13. Nice one mate, your pup looks well and its nice to see someone make an effort in stock training their pup . Well Done.
  14. [Nice dogs mate they look in good nick. I know what you mean with young rabbits I was out on Sunday with me lad only lated an hour first 4 warrens were alive with babies. The season seems to get shorter every year. When I used to go with my grandad when I was a kid and we would carry on till the middle of April at least. I pm you before any info greatly received.
  15. Here are some pictures of my four year old son after a recent outing . He is only four and asks to come every time I go. I think I should e mail it to Blair to let him know people in the country will always hunt one way or another despite what he tries to do.

  18. Hi mate strong pup but like the other lad needs a bit of weight off it, exercising him that heavy will really weaken his pasterns. The same can happen if you work him to young, with the heavier bullcrosses I would leave them till about 12 months due to their extra weight you cold cause him long term damage. When you do start him get him on ground that favours the dog ie not fast ground like golf courses or sportsfields. also when you do start him get his confidence up early by letting him get young or mixied bunnies . Good luck with him and happy hunting.
