  1. Cause we don't want no feckin blow ins
  2. Cheers for the reply lads.. i'll pass these on and hopefully we'll end up with something decent!!!
  3. Lads im pleased to say use are all wrong because the order on the killing, taking, netting, selling and whatever other shite of Irish hares in N.I ended on the 31st of March. Of this i am 95% positive. It is an order that only lasts for a year and has to be renewed.. i think it was 2 years ago there was no order renewed but it was last year but this has thankfully ended on the 31st of last month. No doubt like someone has sayed it will be under review anytime soon.. hopefully the assembly can sort something out and quit this shite order once and for all. Just on another couple of points
  4. Thanks for the reply JDF.. Sadly as im sure you well know the North isn't exactly booming with game, and fox is No.1 on my quarry list, so he has to be on the agenda! I'd do abit of lamping at rabbits but thats about the height of it.. would do alot more but it's finding them and finding them in numbers to test a dog that is the problem in this area.. ya wouldn't like to point me in the direction of a few tidy spots would ye? I hope your pup racks up a full set of strings on his bow anyway! Good luck mate.
  5. Very nice pup lad.. My mate has one similar looking but it's Irish terrier/Bull X and it's about a year old. Nice pup to. It's out of an irish terrier X dog that i have out the back at the moment, a genuine fox dog that i was lucky to get given to me by a mate. I see you said that he'll only be at the rabbits this season.. Do you reckon the irish terrier/wheaton x's take longer to switch on etc? than your Bull x types? Or maybe it's for another reason? Just curious incase your wondering!! Like i say nice pup.. hopefully he'll do you right!
  6. My mate was telling me that a lad we sometimes hunt with had a terrier whelp in an earth. She came back for food everyday and then took off and it took him a while to find the exact hole she was in, but he got the bitch and pups. Just to add the pup he kept back travelled the first earth it ever seen....... linked? Dunno. We got onto this as we've a young dog here who won't travel for feck all at the moment.. I wouldn't doubt your story mate.. somethings have to be seen to be believed.
  7. If she's only 16 weeks old never worry about her size aslong as she not thin or obese.. a little bit of extra weight on a pup is no bad thing, aslong as they're getting plenty of good feeding and a bit of exercise and plenty of playing time she'll come along just nice. A pup doesn't need to be fit. Also like someone has said a litter of pups does not mean all the pups will be the same size and shape, have the same speed etc. To be honest 2 hours walking aday sounds like alot for such a young pup.. at any sort of a decent pace that would be near 4 mile. Personnally i wouldn't give a pup ne
  8. Good going there macker.. your lurchers looking rightly to
  9. Thats good going tommy.. it's nice to be getting back out aint it . Use seem to be getting your fair share of sport anyways.. do you have many men hunting with you tommy? Use must have a right squad to be surrunding the covers and accounting for that many!!!!
  10. Glad to hear you've plenty about as well, plenty down here should mean a good bit of sport for the SEASON to come.. If your mate wants to hunt 12 months a year thats up to him but i personally dislike boyos like that.. lets just hope your not taking any of my foxes :11:
  11. I'm with Kane on this one.. Just what we need more summer time bloody hunters. I'm from N.i myself and the grounds rock hard, now im no expert at all but i wouldn't be running my dog on it. Hope you get no more foxes in.... till september that is .
  12. Lovely looking pup MIKE.. But i must say i like your picture of the lurcher even more. Is that the pup you got off CARREG? It's looks a bloody cracker! What size did she end up if you don't mind me asking? If its her i think my lads a couple of weeks older than her and hes a cracker to.. (Even if i do say it myself  ) All the best,
  13. Heres one of my favourite ''hunting'' song lyrics anyway.. I've only heard it sung once, which was about 3 years ago when i was first over in fell country but it was amazing and it stuck with me. I don't know the exact tune but thanks to another site i was able to get the words. I heard it recited the year after (The guy that sang it wasn't there) but it just wasn't the same.. If anyone knows the tune i would be truly grateful. I've heard rumours theres someone from the Pennine sings it???? Baldie may know....?? Just reading it gives you the jitters but you wanna hear it sung
  14. Cheers lads Can't wait to see him working.. Hopefully he'll have the minerals
  15. Alrite trev just a few pics of the pup mate. They're not brilliant because he doesn't stay still in the field for 2 secs but they'll give you an idea! He's coming on great to.. test of patience sometimes but thats what it's all about . Coming up to 6 months and i think around the 22'' mark for anyone interested. Any pics of his litter mates to trev?? Here he is anyway... All the best,
  16. Lovely pup mate! My lads two weeks older than her but they look right and similar.. All the best.
