thanks. I have high hopes for thwm but then again don't we always with every litter. The dad ( IF he had some hair) could be a twin to the dog in your avatar.

Thanks...... I have more homes than pups. Around here my lurcher is pretty popular and I had homes for the pups 4-5 years ago lol.

I think if a law such as that were passed here... I would suddenly own dogs that came naturally docked and naturally had no dew claws......dare em to prove otherwise.

Mom is a 1/2 pit 1/2 airedale. Good dog to use with the terriers. Dad is a retired racing greyhound. A terrier buddy was here today and kept commenting on how full of himself this pup is... I like him a LOT.. He is a bit over shot right now but I have seen WAY worse straighten right out.

Here is my litter of pups. there are 5 of them. Out of my whippet cross ( 1/2 whippet- 1/4 russell- 1/4 border collie) and a field trial greyhound.

There is a big difference between a truly undershot jaw and a reverse scissor bite. A slightlt undershot jaw is not detrimental IMO...Then again one that is so bad you see teeth with the mouth closed is another story all together.

1/2 grey...1/4 airedale...1/4 pitbull only 5 weeks old though lol.

A little anecdotal evidence.. Only ONE example but it convinced me. I have a lurcher ( 1/2 whippet-1/4 border collie and 1/4 russell) He is intact. The person who bred the litter kept the pick male but had him castrated. we got them together a few years later and we worked em together. Mine was bigger, stronger , faster and more aggressive on game. I believe the reduction in testosterone DOES have a negative effect, but thats just an opinion. And besides what are you gonna do when the dog is a demon and you wanna put him to a good bitch?

John O and I took Sting....CAIN....lucy and june out today ( June is the pup that got all the coon outta the tree and Lucy is her sister) ANYWAY we went to the old railroad bank and hunted sting and Lucy.....Sting got a coon in a very shallow den, and I mean the dig was literally like 4 inches deep. Then he entered a deeper harder den and did a good job getting up to an opossum. We went to a different spot ( opossum hollow for TIM J) and hunted Cain and June...they tried to get into 3 different dens and could never get anything lined out. I will say one thing for the Sting dog...everyone who s

I got out today with stewart and john o....i recently got a greyhound bitch that I wanted to try out, we took black millie and holly and the grey at the first spot....I waited a while to see how the grey was gonna act with the terriers and she seemed OK so we cut her loose Black millie went in a hole and started barking and grabbing on something, and the grey ( her name is cali) went to the hole and acted like she had hunted with a terrier her entire life....we dug down to millie and pulled her out and this happened. Then we went on up and millie got in another den and again w

The big dog is a bolio bred dog...well bred but just a pet..the little one is just 8-9 weeks old and no idea on her ped except I know her dad and he is a good dog.

Eddie traveled here and hunted a few years back with myself , Kenny Chambers and a few folks from FLA that had his dogs.....I am not sure if it was the owners or the dogs but I wouldn't have fed any of them....PLUS when Eddie dug the dogs simply marked a den and he would dig the entire thing up regardless of if the dog actually entered or not..He'd fish a limb up into the den and dig down to the end of the limb, and repeat the process till he dug up the groundhog. He also did NOT believe in letting the dog touch the game and considered it bad if they did make contact. AGAIN this was a one day

My bro goes to the KENTON coon dog trials every year...a guy there has ten packs of alkaline batteris he sells for 1.00 a pack..Stewart usually buys a TON of them. I have a bag full of the packets he gave me.. they work fine and figure out to ten cents a battery.

He may not be an anti...may not be a c**t...but he sure as hell sounds like a bunny hugger to me.

My lurcher is 1/2 whippet....sleeps outside 365 days a year and it gets COLD here......no problems and he is an old man now.

yes..a big coon can be VERY savage and will take the fight to the dog. We don't get REALLY big ones here but any over 20+ pounds can put up a good scrap. The damage from one however is puncture type wounds whereas a groundhog will break stuff up on a dog and slash them more in my opinion. I am very fortunate to live in this area...theres ground work about anywhere you go. A friend and I in one summer using 5 dogs dug 289 groundhogs PLUS a BUNCH of coon and opossum...He had a russell that we quit counting at 500 coons he had been on ( dug and in barns and abandoned houses) The goo

I believe I am required to say that I am in the states and everything pictured is perfectly legal.......................PART 1 I haven't been out for a while due to an injury then laziness John O wanted to get out so we set up to go dig this morning with my brother......John showed up about 10:30 and him and I got started alone and My bro joined us later...John has a black dog named CAIN, he is nothing to look at but a pretty solid little dog. He was bred to a bitch named BLACK MILLIE and I have a pup from that breeding that is 9 months old named LUCY....So JOHN had CAIN and I had his daught

My brother just picked up an 7-1/2 year ole bitch that has been kept as a house pet..NEVER been out hunting in her life....Turned her out and she entered to 3 coon in one hole then entered to a single coon..stayed with em well and gave some pretty good stick according to Stewart. He got her because she is out of his really good hunting russells. Just shows you that a truly well bred dog is kinda hard to screw up.

Jake ( my 17 year old) and I decided the other day that we were NOT gonna go to Thanksgiving dinner at my wifes family . we instead were gonna go hunting together like we did last year. Well we had this all planned out. I haven't been in a while and I have a couple og dogs I think are pretty decent so I am pretty excited about going. ANgie left this morning in the truck to go to her brothers house an hour or so away for dinner.....Jake and I get the collars all sorted out last night and put new batteries in them.....We get all the boxes sorterd out ( 5 of them BTW) and get new batteries in two

Anyone ever eaton squirrel
OHIO STEVE replied to sniffer's topic in Living Off The Land & Game Cooking
Squirrel ( fox and grey) is an excellent meal...skin the squirrel and clean and cut up...roll in flour with a small bit of corn meal , salt peppr and a dash or 2 of rubbed sage...heat up LARD ( NOT crisco or vegetable oils etc but HOG LARD) in a skillet...drop the floured pieces in the hot oil and fry until golden brown...eat with home made biscuits and make gravy on the squirrel drippings. Hard to beat as a meal.
