  2. thanks for the nice comments mate. we have only been married for 2 years so before that it wasnt a problem some times they are fine with her, when i first meet my mrs she couldnt even be near the dog her eyes and face would swell up same for the boy but that has really calmed down now especially the boy but the other day when the wife and kids were out i let her in for a bit of fuss and got her out before they got back in and they noticed straight away when they walked into the house. to be honest i could just keep her living in the kennels but its not doing her justice.
  3. thanks for the great comments we are in wiltshire

  5. one of the hardest choices ive had to make but i need to re-home my big girl. she will be 5 in march but she still looks very young, she is a great dog fully house trained and a brilliant all round dog, we have 3 kids from 2 years to 14 years and never had a problem she also lives with another dog and they get on great and she gets on well with all dogs. she has no health problem very fit and will run all day if you let her. she runs with me on her lead from the bike but if you try this hold on tight she is very powerful. ive had her all her life this is my 3rd rotti in my life time and my la

  7. it was evesham greyhound and lurcher rescue i spoke to and thats there policy they told me to look on lurcher link which i have done nothing that interests me on there so will just wait and see no rush and the dog has to be right for me and my other dogs.
  8. thanks for your replies everyone. spoke to rescue centre today but they said they wouldnt rehome a dog if you have kennels in your garden and i kennel my 2 other dogs in them so looks like another dog will be in a rehoming centre a bit longer, shame.

  10. Im thinking about rescuing a whippet x greyhound 10 months old to work with my young colli x grey. stunning dog good basic training, would love to rescue a lurcher in need and hopefully turn it into a good worker/pet. not bothered if it dont turn out to be a world beater as long as it turns out to be a good dog it will be a lifer with me either way. just woundering has anyone else rescued a lurcher from a rescue centre and not know much about the dog and managed to train it into a good worker. thanks for reading.

  14. alright mate got my boy at 5 months old and he had never seen anything he never even wore a collar before and he is 13 months old now. once i got the basic training to a good standard at about 7 months i would let him free run and if he seen rabbits if they popped out he would chase and he obviously missed them when they turned into cover he kept on running straight. never put him off mate and i just used all this with his obedience training the wait command and recall and so on. now i ferret with him and on sunday had something bigger 1st time and had his first rabbit on the lamp wednesday

  22. just thought i would share this with you all. went out on sunday we had our first frost of the season and was looking forward to a few hours ferreting with some mates. we just had our first rabbit when we had to dig to my mates hob that we hadnt seen for about 45mins and collected the other 2 ferrets that were down with him. we really didnt want this dig it was on the side of a large hill which formed one side of a long valley and typical of wiltshire the soil is chalk and stone. anyway we located the hob at about 5ft and started to dig after about 2ft we checked the location 10ft then 6ft
