Hi John,try using poke nets which are just large purse nets about 5ft long but they have two pegs,one at each end instead of the usual one and because of this they purse up quicker. Its worth having a few in your bag as they are good for the tree stump type sets or any other holes that are awkward due to size,location,etc. You can buy 6z nylon ones for £1.65 each,but i would reccomend you get spun poly ones £4.00 each as these are better quality and will not tangle up and they'll last longer, Pic of one below. Does any ferreters from N.Ireland use this forum? if so could you let me in on a spot or two to go ferreting, im new to this and have not found any good spots yet. You dont have to tell the spots you use (wink-wink) just general areas in N.Ireland that would be decent spots to help a newcomer into the sport. Any help much needed.
