  1. MA how are your dogs doing? Uphill, you still on here? I haven't been here in some time, I came to see what's happening in the dogworld! Mouser
  2. Yokel that's pretty small, not as small as old time dogs. You know them small ones must have been fast paced. Like a pair of batam weight boxers. America loves the heavy weight. I guess the same thing happened to staffs over there?
  3. Not a common thing to see now a days as far as size goes. I've seen old billings for historic matches with dogs in the twenties even a few down in the teens. I watched a program about Ireland several years back, and they were showing a family in apartments. Anyway one of the young boys had a small red brindle staff/pit type dog that had to be in the low 20's. It's rare to see them over here in the states less than 45-50lbs. I have a tall lanky male that's 70-75lbs., but I know for a fact they had American Bulldog added to the line in the 80's. He a great watch dog, but that's it, lol!
  4. i think the Cheshire pit was the one put in to the sealyham terrier, the story as i was told it with the Nuttall dogs was Brian's Grandfather mated small pits 25lb or less on to his border/lakie types Brian then carried on the line
  5. I have a question for Glyn, I've read the story about the Cheshire pits in Nuttal dogs, but have never been able to find anything else about them. You say they weren't staffs, do you know what they were? Just curious, interested in the history.
  6. Rolly, I hate to hear that, Haunter has one hard mouth, John and I were hunting him along a creek and he got to a possum in some pretty rocky ground, before we could get him out it's head was gone. I really liked him, real nice dog, just too big for our area. Here's a pic of Mouse, he's no longer alive. Mouser
  7. Good to see a picture of Haunter, are you hunting him much? I don't think Outland get on here, but I'll tell him you have a couple of pics posted. Mouser
  8. Good call, Uphill, I've never hunted them, but have read some about them. I remember reading about wolf hunters in the states, and seen some pics of their dogs, and the stretched hides. The wolf dogs were huge, and they said alot of times they lost most of them when on a big male wolf. I'll have too, look and see if I can find that article again. However there are several different species of wolves, and not all of them are as big as the timber wolf, they have one stuffed in a full mount at Bass Pro Shop, attacking a big ram, and it's legs were as big as my forearms, and I ain't little.
  9. Thank you Mick, I've gotten a few leads. Mouser
  10. Hello, I'm trying to help my hunting partner out, I keep terriers, and my buddy does too, but he also had a 18 month old gyp, staghoundxstaghound/bully that he just had to put down due to cancer. If anyone in the states has any staghounds, or staghound crosses, please contact me at BULLPEN_99@yahoo.com Thanks in advance, Mouser P.S. I'm posting a pic of his gyp, it doesn't do her justice, she was a very good looking dog, and my buddy hunts his dogs several times weekly.

    Dingos

They look bigger than our coyotes in the states, it seems like a couple of longdogs could take one easily.
  12. A friend was talking about them the other day, and I am curious are they even used for anything other than show anymore? Look like they might make good ratters still yet. Mouser
  13. Great pics, could you put up a pic of your smoker? Very nice looking dogs. Mouser
  14. I have a crossman 550, that is fed with the little co2 cartiages. Is there any conversion parts that you can get to make it use a co2 bottle? Thanks for any advice. Mouser
  15. Nice looking dogs, that Bear is a right smart looking dog. Mouser
  16. "Ditto", nah, just kidding, I'm from the U.S. and have two hunting dogs. One is a Leopard Cur, the other a fell terrier. I hunt mainly coon, squirrel and groundhog. My terrier is still a pup, but I've kept patterdales for 5 yrs, not that that means a thing, LOL! I don't have any pics posted on any picture sites, and don't really want to learn how to do that, but would gladly e-mail pictures of my dogs to anyone that would like to post them. Mouser
  17. I like the looks of your rifle, too bad they don't let us use silencers in the U.S. that is unless you pay for a permit. I have a couple of cheap pellet rifles, but wouldn't mind a better one, is there any that you would recommend for a guy limited in the money department? Thank, Mouser
  18. Hey all, I'm located in KY, and love to get out and hunt with my sons and dogs. I currently have one fell pup that I'm just starting and a young leopard cur gyp. I don't see a browse button or I'd post a few pics. Mouser
