I love songbirds imagine a world without them and how quiet it would be!!when i was a kid I used to tie a long piece of string to a wooden peg and balance a shopping basket on top on one side with loads of bread underneath and hide in the garage waiting for the birds to come. Then when they were confident of going under id pull the string and the basket would capture the birds! 9 out of 10 times it would be a sparrow but i caught many robins, blackbirds, blue tits, starlings etc but my best ever was a pair of yellow hammers!! Keep it simple FFS!! Its bull greyhound with some collie in it mate and seeing how plenty of other lurchers are bred in a similar way then yes it should be ok for working big stuff and mooching. Ferreting for some reason people think you need a small fast dog but last time i went a big 1/4 bull 3/4greyhound dog marked and watched the nets as good as any dog yes you might miss a few bolters that slip the net but that just means theres some for next time so cant see yours struggling. Seeing the parents will give you a better idea than asking on here

Depends on alot of things like size, age etc but i found that hanging for a couple of days at least made it easier to skin and the meat tasted less gamey. I think alot depends on personal preference. But saying that we have had deer that we couldnt hang and had to butcher straight away and they tasted just as good and the meat was just as tender. Also helps if you no how to cook meat properly the tenderest joint in the world can still be ruined in the oven!! All ill say is its better under hung than over and gone off!

Most of the venison you get in supermarkets over here are old red stags or hinds that are no use for breeding. As im sure everyone on here will be aware of the demand for beef,lamb and pork is 1000s of times that of venison FACT so the quality of the deer farmed is not up to the standard of other animals. Infact i doubt many deer are farmed for meat in the uk? I think it mainly comes from NZ? Could be wrong tho!! As for the nicest eating deer in our wild out of the 4 Ive tried i would put them in the order of fallow, roe, red and munty! As for shot or ran Ive never noticed any difference apart

Lol yeah come on bird you should of known that mate!! They looking well kay shows what that vet knows i should of had leah when i had the chance ha ha! Mist is out for rest of season ran into some wire on friday morning and damaged her front leg bad im getting as unlucky as you lol!

Good honest answer there mate! The thing that i would worry about tho is the rest of the teams up there id imagine the trip to ibrox and parkhead for them is the highlight of the season and it wouldnt be fair on their fans? One thing i do know tho is id love to be at parkhead when liverpool are away there when we played them in europe a few years back both sets of fans sang youll never walk alone together and it was amazing to see/hear on the telly so i can only imagine what it would of been like to be there in person!! Ive never been to glasgow but im not sure about there being no trouble mat

Pakis and well conditioned dogs aint that common round my way lol just a shame to see a name like nuttal mentioned in the same sentence as pakis and working dogs! And the salukis are arab dogs nothing to do with pakistan at all
