    Give it to a pine stripping works. It only cheep £3-5 .This will stip all the varnish / oils & garbage out of the wood. Then get a old towel drop it in boiling water, wring it ,& wrap it around the wood tight & put it some place warm (airing cupboard) or sauna, do this several times to get all the bruises & small dents out. Then sand it carefully, wire wool to finish & then wipe it over with teak oil & put it some where warm for the wood to soak the oil in . then buff with clean cloth..done !! With patience it will look amazing.

    Put in for 22 r/f & 223 cals, 22r/f for pest & vermin destruction. 223 small deer (scotland) . The 22 rimmy will give you all the practice you need , & every day use, on rabbits etc. Been able to get the 223 for fox & deer & the shot in the right spot @ the right distance using 55gr soft point ammo. They may snub a 243 !! step by step, go for the 243+ cal after 18 month if nessacary

    Location ,location,location. If you can safe guard the area, keep 1 or 2 buddies happy on it to share the cost of maintaining it, feeding it, & attracting more into the area. Its worth what time & effort you have. Does it work with your plans for a few pens ?? high seats ?? whatever..If the location is venerable.....open to abuse, it may be a headache. Have a morning, then an afternoon, & an evening out at diffrent times & see whats on there. & dont forget, how long is the lease ! Good luck.

    Depending on your cartrages you use, keep to a safe 40-45yds range No6's wil do the trick in 30/32gr for most birds & ground game.To gauge distance , walk 45 paces, from your hide, or shoot point. Put a stick in the ground, Go left/ right & forward. Thats your kill zone, you shot will travel a good 100yds, with not much impact, so keep the shot direction 200yds from any road, houses etc. Good luck.

    Got to be Cz or Browning , avoid all other semi auto's unless you like the idea of add on's . Years ago i had to spend almost £400 to get a std ruger 10/22 to perform right, by the time i had done , there was no ruger left apart from the action !! Cz a sure choice out of the box. For nice bolt actions sako finfire p96 or browning 'A'bolt.
