  1. ok mate fair point, i shouldn't have said none are worked, but i would bet that there wasn't many there on sunday that were, you made a good point that the show has to improve before real dog men go regularly with proper working dogs, graham you are right in that you say you can only judge what is put in front of you, i am in no way directing any of this at you and i'm sure you done a great job over the weekend, no i didn't enter my dog on sunday, i don't enter into dog shows.
  2. look ya baw bag, you asked me where does it say RABBITS and i only pointed out on the first post the op mentioned doubling up on RABBITS, i could understand missing the point if RABBITS were mentioned a couple of pages through the topic, but RABBITS were mentioned on the very first post if that makes me a gobshite, prick and quick with my mouth then so be it. I don't think i'm the one that looks stupid though. Looking stupid by you is the last of my worries lad at least we are both agreed that you look stupid
  3. Derek all 3 judges on the day do WORK the dogs that they judged on the day.I judged the whippets and i have owned and worked whippets for the past 15 years and i dig with the Terrier judge aswell if you have owned and worked whippets for the past 15yrs, would you say that the whippets that were shown were of a good working standard? Every whippet that was in the ring had the potential to work but it's not for me to say that the owner work their dogs or not some where a bit heavy but thats exspected for this time of year but in the working class the dogs that were picked were in my

  7. i was there on sunday, i was there also last year and i thought €15 was ok, that was until i went on sunday, i thought there was a bad turnout from the lurchers, there wasn't as many stalls as there were last year unless you were looking for something to eat, the shows in the main arena that were put on were good for the kids and families, i went down to have a look at the lurchers and i wasn't impressed, the stalls that were there were expensive and alot of the items were of poor quality but i did manage to get a fleece top for a bargain €10, couldn't find a lamp battery, whippet colla
  8. if it was a good dog then why was it ran doubled up on rabbits? i can't for the life of me understand why anyone would run a dog doubled up on rabbits, makes no sense Where does it say rabbits we dont catch more runing 2 dogs together or runing 1 dog on its own but here theres not loads of rabbits and if we go out we are lucky to get 5 runs on the lamp so we run them both together to make sure both have a run, so whats peoples oppinions on double runing and i dont agree the rabbit has less chance of escape and we never had an injury due to this either just for you stevie w

  17. Is there a specific law regarding that or are you using the 'wreckless cycling'/'having an animal under control' laws? That makes a difference because it depends how it's done. If the animal is under control by being properly tethered and your cycling isn't wreckless as you've taken reasonable safety precautions then I find it hard to see how you could be successfully prosecuted for it. i don't know if there is a specific law, i remember reading about it a while back (can't remember where) i will see if i can find it, does anyone have RUNNING DOG MAINTENANCE by PENNY TAYLOR? i'm su
