doubled up on rabbits never again,in the early days i slipped my 11 month old bitch in behind my mates 7 year old dog, on his say so,they ran a bunny toward,then along a hedgerow,his big dog turned it back toward my bitch the collision of the dogs sounded like the crack of a whip,my bitch came back none the worse for wear we buried his dog that night. that was a sad read and one that touched home a bit,not saying i have seen a dog killed in the field but my king charles spanial was run over by a car this year and she was a great gun dog Now i know ye are taking trhe piss

How do ye know they have good dogs have ye seen them work ? dont make yourself look daft kidder ye have a habit of doing that, and stop reading shitty books like the complete lurcher and beliving all ye read the folks that write them are not great dog men or women they are good writers thats all and young lads that read books think because they have wrote books they must be gods anf for the record i aint sexist but ive never seen a decent dog woman yet

I do belive it was on the lamp folks were talking about i run dogs in the day doubled up simply because there all of the lead and had a few knocks etc but not like i seen on a lamp and cant say about a shit dog etc because the pair i was refering to were always doubled up it wasnt until 1 died that i saw the other run single and it was poor,perhaps the dog was always shite and the other made it look good ye never know what ye got if ye run doubled all the time,and yeah i agree a dog which is run single wont run shite run doubled odd time but ye run the same dog doubled for a season or 2 then b

Great thread breezymound I've never ran rabbits doubled up that I can think of but I have whiteys; which is as close as your gonna get. I've seen a few collisions but no real damage done. Yes the dogs run different doubled up with usually the dominant one leading. I've never seen it having an adverse effect when running single. Dogs aren't as daft as some people make them out to be. Windyarse, keep doing what your doing pal Ive seen dogs injured quite badly doubled up usualy at a srike when total focus is on the quarry, and i know a fella who kept a pair of collie/whippet/greys

l dont get how your going have a lamping comp that your going hunt diff things how can it be fair?????you might on call up 1 fox that night or see only one deer cant see it working and women dont only hunt rabbits They do, an if they don't they should how wrong can some people be ? ive helped clean up and patch up more dogs than some . sexism is one of the rules of the forum and by not letting a lady run you break a rule, it comes close to racism which is also a rule of the forum If that's correct then I apologise but am sorry rules are rules an there's nothing

Recipe for disaster sooner or later there gonna colide or knock each other and a dog is gonna get injured,also running 2 dogs together all the time is gonna make them run different to a single handed dog ie you will get 1 dog hold back etc let the other dog do the work also 2 dogs run together start to relie on a partner to turn game etc and usualy come unstuck when run alone, ye will never know what your dog is capable of on its own either just my opinion though alot of folks may think differently

Spot on i like to give mine abit of swimming and plenty ragging brushes and skins tied up at a height as well they enjoy a good workout on a skin

you must be some age then its always been the same even before the ban with hounds ye always had do-gooders ruining a day or terrier work ye always had some divvy reporting ye saying badger bait this and badger digging that ive seen less hassle since the ban than before it simply because i came away from all the registerd packs etc and went into a smaller circle out the public eye and its not affected my sport one bit if ye want your kids to share the same experiances you did do the same

that the best ye can come back with ye were on here before me by a good way look at the times of ye posts if folks look through your posts with a calendar and look at your post history and match it to a calendar ye were on here just about every weekend through the season for most of the day i just dont know how ye manage to fit all that typing in and digging ye do

Ive seen a few coursing dogs take fox, i wouldnt say they were good at it and a few made hard work of finishing the job but they did do it,ive seen more refuse to take them than take them though they wouldnt be my 1st choice for a vermin dog
