Ive seen some dog's become legend's by simply producing a legend simple fact was they were average and consitent at being average but also consistent in producing working stock but when they were producing working pup's they were bulled up far better than they were to sell the pup's produced legend's are usualy a peddlar's best friend or owned by 1 ive seen some great dogs that have done fantastic thing's and wished i had owned them myself but they were never made legend's because there owner's didnt want folk knowing what they had

Best dog i ever seen on red stag's was a coursing dog x deerhound/grey that dog pulled plenty in the open fantastic dog if thing's wasnt going it's way when it pulled though it wouldnt stop and if a red stood it would lose it's bottle it was the same with fallow buck's and was never really run on them it was a good hind and doe dog though just lacked the bottle if thing's got tough it was bred to a few bull bred bitch's and never produced feck all though but you could never take away the fact that the dog could and did regular pull red stag's in the open

Ive seen them taken in the open either they didnt run and stood or when they run with 2 dog's and ive seen plenty dog's straight lined of them and i agree a dog that has to wait for an animal to bounce or fook up aint a deer dog obviously it is going to happen even when good dog's are on them, but dog's that can only take them that way are not deer dog's there average dog's that will take them when they can
