for a small dog for ferreting i would say get a whippet i had one when i stared and still have 1 to this day (not the same one like lol) but ye very handy for them holes that you cant get to and boy it is fun when its your first running dog. and it gets it frist rabbit it used to give me goose bumps good luck hunting mate

i once set a fox snare on a chane link fence but connected it to the post it was on some council alotments well lets say never again it wo a dog fox and he pulled it down and made a right mess to the alotment i learnt my lesson there
