A "definite" buyer has pulled out and our last pup, Tobias, is now available again, he was actually one of the first pups to be reserved. His markings are identical to his mother & father - brown head, clean white/liver ticked body and little brown patch at the base of his tail and he is going to be a cracker of a dog. I own the dam Tilley and she is a great game finder, steady pointer and flushes to command. The Sire is also a great strong working dog and works with hawks and he comes from a John Bray litter. Both dogs live inside and are great family dogs

They are generally great in water my bitch loves water and is happy swimming for duck and retrieving from the far bank. In all fairness mind she took a while to go in past chest level when she was a youngster. -
I have a litter of liver/white ticked GWPs available the pics below show them at exactly 4 weeks old and they will be available in another 4 weeks, I own the dam Tilley and she is a great game finder, steady pointer and flushes to command, I had the best season of my life on grouse thanks to her last year. She is from Dennis Groom's first litter which have been held in high regard on the stalking directory. She lives inside with us and is a great family dog also. The Sire is also a great strong working dog and works with hawkes and he comes from a John Bray litter. Both dogs have excel

Reparing The Slider Switches On A Mk3 Finder
sanibel686 replied to sanibel686's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
I'm seriously thinking about it. Without copying any intellectual property of course. -
I just got a mk3 finder from another member and had a good play with it this morning when my batteries came from ebay. I noticed that the search/locate slider wasn't doing anything and when I opened it up there was no magnet in the slider to operate the reed switch. I understand how these things can get lost so no worries, i thought I would just ring DEBEN and get them to send me another one. They told me that all areas of the finder are patented and they could not send me an individual component part, but I would have to send it back to them for "refurbishment!?!?" at £35. After 10 minutes ar

Cannot Get A Decent Group .223
sanibel686 replied to fiona22's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
As others have said use factory ammo for consistency, and as Danw has said get a second opinion from a seasoned shooter. Lastly, use a target! four black 1" squares like this http://www.targetz.com/targetzlib/10001.pdf -
I would go second hand every time for the value aspect. If you are at all worried about bullet count try to aim for a gun that looks "as new" and you will still save on new. Make sure that the bolt locks up tight when a round is chambered, it dosen't matter if there is some play when the gun is empty. Some people use hotrodded home loads and this can prematurely burn the throat but you'll only see this with a bore scope at a (very) good shop. There is no substitute for shooting it with the sellers chosen (factory) ammo. Remember it is a buyers market.

I know the debate rages on about which is best. I've always used mk1 gear and I've never even seen a mk3 used in the field but recently I thought I'd give one a go so I have a mk1 box and collar that I could swap for a mk3 box and collar. All in good working condition and the collar has new leather. Please PM me if this is of interest to you. Cheers

Ferret Re-homing thread - Free to good homes ONLY
sanibel686 replied to a topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Two spayed three year old Jil ferrets plus hutch and carry box, free to a working home. These belonged to my pal Simon who emigrated to New Zealand yesterday. One is polecat coloured and one is albino, they also come with the hutch in the picture (I'll post later) and a carrying box with shoulder strap. I'd keep them myself but they don't get on with my ferrets who all live together in a single hutch. They are free to a working home. South Shields. (unless someone cares to donate a pair of 7x binocs in which case you will take priority!!) -
assuming you want some money for it??
