Reduced to £3500 for a very quick sale!!

No worries, but I have a budget of £100 to £200 and found it difficult to understand how you thought it would be helpful to me in saying that unless I spent £750 I would buy a load of rubbish. I honestly thought you were "grandstanding" in your original post and I still believe that such comments arn't helpful in sales/ wanted type posts. If anyone has anything please PM me, left handed would also be ok as I am a leftie but don't mind shooting a RH s/a regards

Price is relative in everything we buy not just guns. It relates to age, condition, the dynamic of supply/demand etc. As a brief example there are 9 section 1 guns on guntrader today for less than £200 and others posted at more than £1000, you know what the difference is? some are newer/more desireable some are older/less desireable. Your comment is not logical or helpful to my wanted ad, and may possibly even have a negative effect. In future you would be wise not to post such comments in wanted/for sale type ads, at almost 1000 posts on this site I would have thought you should be aware of s

And I'm the other person speaky is refering to. I offered you your full asking price and a £15 contribution to postage. You told me the gun was mine and for me to give you my address which I did. Then when I tried to arrange payment with you, you emailed me this intellectual masterpiece "i aint gettin rid nw mate k" Yet I see that you have now sold it out from under us both. You embody none of the characteristics that would make for a safe future transaction on this site and I for one will refer others to this thread should I see you trying to sell anything else.

NOW SOLD THANKYOU This is an english hammer gun with 30" damascus brls chokes measure 0.719 and 0.712 (1/4?). The brls are beautiful swirl damascus which are the crowning glory of the gun, they have a couple of pits toward the muzzle end but nothing at all I would worry about (I bought it to use myself) BP proofed. Action is a little loose. Length of pull is 14 1/4" to front trigger. The forend has a horn tip and the stock has a pronounces tiger stripe (fiddleback) in it. One hammer has been braze repaired and you can see a small repair to the right lock these are both very old repairs and ha

FOR SALE - .410 FOLDING BELGIAN HAMMER SHOTGUN
sanibel686 replied to badsworth's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
Read right through the important bit is at the end what do you mean pal Low carbon steel, i.e. steel with about 20 points or less of carbon, cannot be made to harden by heating and quenching, as higher carbon steels can. Low carbon steels are tough, soft and flexible. They wear quickly and batter easily. Many parts, including gun actions in days gone by, were made with low carbon steel. It was cheap, strong and easy to machine. Unfortunately it would not stand up to the battering of use in the field. Case hardening added carbon to the surface skin of the steel part and left it in -

FOR SALE - .410 FOLDING BELGIAN HAMMER SHOTGUN
sanibel686 replied to badsworth's topic in Gun's and Rifle's
That is not colour hardening on the action, someone has just sanded it down and warmed it up randomly with a torch to put some colour on the metal. Shouldnt' be a big problem on a 410 but you should be aware of what you are selling. -
I have two remington 1100's The left handed model is a 28" barrel multi choke with skeet and full chokes. Mechanically it is fine but it has been carried for wildfowling before I owned it and as you can see the finish has worn quite a bit. The right handed 1100 has a 26" skeet barrel and I've fired around 350 rounds through it over the last 14 years. This gun is in excellent condition with near perfect blueing and wood. My camera flash has made a white triangle appear on the stock and various white streaks on the bluing, these are not actually on the gun!! Both guns are 3 shot

Thank you for all the PM's and interest in the gun it is now sold pending.

Yes I've seen a few photos of Fred Williams guns identical to this. I think what used to happen back in the old days was a number of the "named" manufacturers used to buy in guns "in the white" engrave their own names on them and charge more for them as a result. I suppose not much has changed when you pay a lot more for a Sabbati if it's been badged as a Browning Citori or McNab Highlander!!
