good point I think its just as important to warm your dog down after exercise.as for treadmills used in line with traditonal forms of exercise why not?

I use a carpet tile in the same spot it the garden.a pup will p##s or sh#t evey time it wakes up from a kip & when its eaten so every time its eat or woke up it take it to the tile a move it back to the tile when it walks off untill it does sumat takes a couple of weeks tops.its all down to routine feed at the same time get yourself outa bed at the same time everyday sometimes on younger dogs I dab round its arse and that with a damp cloth to imitate how its mother got it to go.thats how Ive always had success hope it helps, but remember routine a house trained dog wont hold on to it allday

advise for a young lurcher thats missing rabbits??
sako trg replied to ol26's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
do you walk right on top of squatters before you slip?Ive seen a lot of young dogs miss when thats the case,I put it down to the fact the rabbit will reach its top speed as your dog is still accellerating which cause it to over shoot sort of like stoppin distances in a car if you know what I mean?I start my dogs in a walled field with 1 gate & slip my dog about 25yrd from the squatter so the dog is moving as the bunny jumps & not starting off from a dead stop the wall does the rest giving the dog chance after chance(unless it finds the gate!).sounds like you've done everything right pr -
any shops that do put it on the product price, but clarkes machine mart do 1,it will be over 50" I think

looking for a decent scope
sako trg replied to beggsybluestaff's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
for that money Id say hawke nite eye,but av a trawl round the second hand sections you sometimes get lucky & find a big name in 6 x 42 for around the same price I found a ziess £180.look on yorkguns or try cheshire gunroom. -
a good dvd is AGI handloading for the long range shooter.easy to follow but its 1 hell of an imfomercial, you dont need to go to lengths shown for hunting rounds but its good to see it done properly.also buy 2 or 3 manuals and stick to them until your confidence grows. trg

do it in a alleyway or hallway indoors, then its got no where to run off to,lots of encouragement, dont bore the shit out of it though, little at a time, cuddly toy or socks usually do the trick, even get a rabbit skin and make a dummey bang on!that's how Ive always done it.1 thing I'll add,its got to be a game for the pup, dont gget carried away with early success when the pup starts lossing intrest in the session stop aand move the dummy out of sight and do it all again later.when you get a good retriving dog dont be tempted to drop the catches for your mate's pups to bring em on that spoiled

aply for all the calibre's you think you'll need up to .30cals but have the right answers for the use's when you are ask'd by the police.you dont have to buy them all,its just cheaper & easier than aplying for a variation and you never know what you'll see in the gunshop when you go to buy,a pity to miss a bargin just because it's not on your ticket

my first rimfire was a bruno?semi auto always jammin, exchanged for a annie(second hand)a beltin gun,but mine shot all over creation probably been shot out, exchanged for a new sako finfire brilliant to shoot but out with a keeper rabbit shootin 1 night it was my rifle that had to 10 shot mag(£30 extra)brake and the five shot mag stick every 3 or 4 times while my mate's cz went without missing a beat or very many rabbits.time over,cz it's a costly exercise swaping & changing. trg

thanks for the replys andy & jon thats what I do when Im trying a new load say 25 loads, but being lazy and waiting till Ive a mountain to climb before I usually press it's mighty time consuming.at least the micrometre won't be going in the magic bean section of my accounts like so many other of my puchase's.not a bad measure just need to keep your wits about you. trg

its a trg,the brake stays on wouldn't have thought a moderator would make much difference in that cal apart from wieght, that said quicksilver have or or going to bring 1 out for 338's and 50 cals so if you no anything about them feel free to share.I always apply for moderators to match the rifle to save the£20 if I apply for a variation.cant think were I saw that about quicksilver Im sure it was on here wouldnt bother with a mod .ive used the .338 in the dtates .its an awsom bit of kit you need the brake on them youd never hold them on target otherwise mind dont forget the

cheers dan wouldn't want to get rid of the PMII but would still love an NXS.your the 1st person Ive spoken to who has a mod on something this sort of size as everyone has rightly said noone seems to see the need with it being a target rifle.

cheers dan that was goin to be my 1st choice on mounts but at £150ish for a picatiny rail for it I went for a sako 1piece mount instead only to find my PMII wont sit in it so went for a 2piece opti lock but theres no arrester for the recoil on them(tikka mount with the pin removed basicaly).realy like the NXS and its only 30mm tube but do you trade in? the schmit is a fine scope, or do you put it on another gun my choices of scope would be a 8 X 56 schmit a 2.5-10 X 56 schmit or a leupold LRT 6.5-20 X 50.the leo is on my 6.5 X55 and I quite like it but have read bad reports on them for such a

You have to take all reasonable precautions! In general whilst camping it would seem to be safer to leave the gun in the boot, and bolt/ammo in glovebox, whatever, locked, and hopefully alarmed car. On the face of it this would seem a much better option than in a canvas or nylon tent. The situation needs evaluating and the best options taken...so a car can be fine!!! sound advice from deker.always wonder'd how you'd fair in court if all reasonable precautions were taken & it still got stolen?anyone fell foul?I hope not, just my mind wonderin, lack of work.

Anschutz synthetic stocks....
sako trg replied to danebrewer10's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
mate of mine own'd a gunshop and told me when I was thinking of a mcmillan stock it was cheaper to get one from mcmillans but it would take longer than to order through a shop.didn't buy 1 at the end of the day so sorry it does help you with your choice, just something to be aware of before you buy.just a footnote Im not sure how you would go about getting 1 from the states Ive found it realy hard getting anything. sorry its not much help. trg -
