  2. hi why does on this subject still go to original page, usually when you reply to a post it re news itself and comes on 1st page , ive replied to the deerhound x pups from karen and have to scroll to page 3 to see any reply other subjects ie lurchers ,trapping etc go es to the 1st page
  3. when the time comes(bad weather buggers off )and i can relax in my big field i will get my ranges sorted out i bollocks up by fitting a lamp bracket so had to re zero ive spent more money on play time than actual kill time ,espceially when you seen to go back over which pisses you off im now at a 100 yrds for winter work so quite happy as visibilty maybe a bit worse for wear if and when it gets better i'll be out happy hunting lee
  4. my rifle was still shooting the inch and half over at 100yds if your rifle is shooting that what range can you shoot to get a good clean kill? i set mine up at inch over @100 at 150 ish its still good for a nice kill in the engine room (but never set a target any further ie 200m ish) do you set up different targets to see bullet drop? im not very experienced regarding .243 shooting only shooting one fox and a few crows whats your experience and others if they read this post cheers lee

      both mate the beaches fishing well but when they get out uptiding they have had goog fishing quite alot of doubles

  8. depending on what your intentions are with this dog you may have a little cracker others breed 3/4 greys to most breeds to give it more pace so more collie would give it more endurance more intelligence a bit of nastiness if bred right so what ever it occupation be ferretting ,marking ,ratting you may have a good dog what were its parents used for and you may get a good picture of the dogs potential good luck with the trial either way
  9. i was there in2006 what a scorcher that was too 44 on boxing day ,my brother lives on the vines(upper swan valley) right next to the golf club ,saw loads of roos some males a hell of a size what are the legalities now catching roos ?do different districts have different rules ? we went fishing in freemantle but caught nothing of size ,very disapointed were going back prob next or year after ,can i book days hunting , thanks lee

  11. we have a large rookery and i cant seem to decoy very well ,ive a pigeon magnet and never thought of using it on crows i'll have to give it a go what other tips have you got to get these shy birds in , will a couple of rabbit or hare carcasses do in with the decoys ,ive only 4 flocked crows at the moment (but they look well like)

  13. we'll still go mate but i had a look around on mine last night with lamp all fields have been worked this last day, i never saw a thing even all the deer had buggered off ,food source has dis appeared now , if your after charlie boy next week and you fancy some one to tag along i'll love to sit out or have a mooch and look at your set ups and when i see things knocking about again we'll swap venues and come over to mine i'll leave it up to you as some people prefer to lamp on their tod catch up soon
  14. another one of my favorites were when we were kids and shot a few pheasants out of the trees with air rifle (weve all done it ) we left a brace near the the farmers gate who is the terrier man of the local hunt we walked a bit further and went to the local dam and tickled a few trout on our way back to pick the birds up they were nt there so we put the lamp on only to find charlie boy with 2 birds in its mouth running across the terrier mans paddock the cheeky get ha ha
  15. i had this type of prb 2 -3 wks ago and put a post up ,people on here are great ,they told me not to spend a penny at the vets and try kids benilyn cough medicine i made up some gravy a poured it on my dog food then put 5ml on the food and mixed it well in i did this day and night as i feed my dogs twice a day for 4 days and it was a good result these dogs did not have sniffles just a cough
  16. i use the sako gamehead bullets on my 243 through my howa 1500 sporter ive zerod it at 100 yrds and set another 2 targets up one @50 yrds and one @150 yrds from 50 to 150 yrds there is only an inch and half diffrence im happy with that and the keeper who helped me says he was impressed with the accuracy ive only had the one fox but no deer as yet ,the damage on the fox was nt too excessive but well marked so will they be ok for deer if shot in the right place ?
  17. nice looking dogs me been green as grass are they a pedigree or a mastif x please inform me what are they used for ? my brother who emigrated to oz took a english mastif with him then bought another one over there what a size the dog is
  18. with all the comments about this set up been a good one ive just dipped into our joint account (dont tell our lass )and splashed out on the yukon ranger and the n1000 laser i'll let you know when it arrives and how i get on with this set up 2 days delivery for the laser and 5 -7 days for the nv happy hunting

  20. we have about 6 traps set from end of october to end of janaury.catch bout 30 a year in them .bait i find the best is duck or half of hare ,or white chickens that we get from local chicken farm.stink to high heaven. all our traps are 6 feet long 3 feet high 3 feet wide. all our traps are 6 feet long 3 feet high 3 feet wide , they look very natural with the grass coming through the side and floor , do you mesh the floor or leave it as they dont like walking on it do they , i bought two off bay but too bright so i sand blasted them also changed the trip m

  22. this is my marlin thumbhole stock,had the barrel shortened and re threaded to 16",trigger upgraded,dm80 sound mod,harris bi pod viper 4x16x50 scopes, the gun was purchased and all mods done at rimfire magic,at a cost of about £525,dm £120,scopes £140 ish the ammo is use is the hornady blue tip at around £10 per 50 im very pleased with the rifle and scope very very accurate and well worth the money ive taken game and vermin at around 110 good paces i set the scopes at 35 yrds as instructed by fellow hunters on this site and its very much appreciated on all the info you lads have gav
  23. the most memorable when lamping with a .22 bullet gun was seeing a fox coursing a rabbit in some reeds it looked like a top class lurcher @work i had lamp way above its head but what a site ,turn 4 turn should of bred off it
